kicker car amplifiers

What do you guys think about power ACOUSTIC car amplifiers? Please Rate their performance and Rate their RMS rating. Are Refurbished Kicker Amplifiers worth the money, $400.

Personally, I think Power Acoustik is crap. So do alot of people I know in car audio. Their amps do about 80% rated power. That means if it is rated at 100 watts RMS per channel, it will do about 80 per channel. If you can get the refurb cheap enough, I would get it, if it was refurb'ed by Kicker. Most of the time a brand new is one is only a little more.

Hey i have a problem w/ my kicker amplifier it get really damn hot..and after a while it shuts off..the little green power lights turns red...what seems to be the problem can any one help

i agree with inktown. all the other ppl saying to get a bigger fan dont know what they are talking about.

first, make sure you are not bridging the amp under an ohm load it does not support.

check your amp settings. never have any setting set to MAX, and never have the gain/level set over 3/4 high.

check the grounding on the amp. if the wire is not connected good, this will cause a problem. make sure the surface to where the ground wire is connected at is; clean, no dirt/oil, no paint, and is tightly on the surface.

but you might want to look into it more.

what if you're running two subs

70watts x2=140watts @ front channel + rear channel all in is about 280 watts
