mmats amps

Which do you think is a better company for amps? I hear mmats has a very good efficiency rating, but so does rockford. I also want something thats going to make my subs pound, but at the same time, i want a clean sound.
I have 2 alpine type Rs.
Or should I just get an alpine amp to match?

mmats amp is better..its smaller , cleaner and cheaper. try the mmats 2100.05 on them subs and see.

now in these clip the amp is at full power, pushing 1550 watts to a memphis mojo 12quot;

Wants to push 2 diamond d6 subs. i have the new mmats 800.1 i'm sure that won't do the job. any info would help thanks

If your total system power is more than 1000 watts RMS you will need to:

1. Upgrade the alternator to a high output alternator
2. Upgrade to a heavy duty deep cycle battery
3. Upgrade the "Big 3" - that is to replace the power wire between the battery and alternator and the ground strap.

Failure to do this will result in you replacing them anyway as the alternator will eventually fail.

How do i hook up a Mmats dhc1400.5 amp to Two Kicker S12L7 2ohms speakers to get the most out of the speakers and amp. If you can provide a picture. Thank you.

If they're dual 4 ohm, then the above link will result in a 4 ohm load or http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s parky3489/DUAL-PARALLEL.jpg will result in a 1 ohm load from dual 4 ohm.

Each sub should be half (or more) the watts RMS of the amp at the required impedance (ohms).

Something to consider...this is an example...

To calculate the current draw of an amplifier, multiply the number of channels by the RMS watts per channel (a 2 channel amp rated at 500 watts RMS per channel would be 1000 watts). Double it to account for amplifier inefficiency (1000 watts X 2 = 2000 watts), then divide by the average output voltage of an alternator, 13.8 volts (2000 divided by 13.8 = 145 amps). Since the average music signal requires about 1/3rd of the average power in a test tone, divide by 3 (145 amps divided by 3 = 48 amps).

This is an average approximation of current draw and it can go higher. So I would gather between *48 and 72 amperes for this example.

The alternator of a:

compact car is about 35 amps
mid-sized car is about 65-75 amps
SUV is about 145 amps

Calculate 40% of the amperes of the alternator you have now. This is the average current the car uses when running. Add this number to the approximate average current draw (*48) of the amps you calculate, and you will come up with the mimimum average current required to power the audio system and vehicle.

If the number you come up with is the same as what your alternator supplies, you need to take no action.

im from the philippines and i have a 2.5 15"mmats sub, an alpine v12 amp(our local version; around 300-500 watts), intersys 2 farad capacitor, and a 2 or 3sm battery. i recently hit 140.00db(not walled; show box in the trunk with plexi glass) with a term lab meter early this month(i entered the generic class and was my 1st time), and im slowly planning to upgrade my sound sytem. i want to push more db but i also want a daily driver(including seperates).

When you start getting close to a dead short, that's not good. Heat is an amps worst enemy and loading an amp that low will definately give it a short life unless it is specifically designed to handle that low of ohms.

Also as you lower the ohms you increase THD, this is also not good.
