Do punch amplifiers work good with two 15s ?

At the audio shop the guy that works their told me "Punch amps are one of the best out there" can anyone out there vouch for him ?

Rockford are very good amps, but not even close to being the "best out there", but I like Rockford amps.

I have the RF Punch 400.2 driving my front speakers, and a RF Power T1000-1bd powering my subs.

spent about 200 and 400, respectively, excluding shipping, for for "one of the best out there" amps, be prepared to spend over $ 30k for one. True A-Class amps.

Is a 15 year old Rocford Fosgate Punch 75 car amplifier worth anything?

I found this old car amplifier in my closet. It hasn't been used in 15 years. I remember it was about $400 new. Is it worth anything at all?
Thanks.

IT really depends on which 75 Watt amp it is. To Sell it properly you will need to find the right buyer for that amp. a 75W Rockford fosgate from 15 years ago is probably on par with their 800W amps of today. Back when real amps were made Fosgate, Orion, PPI Companies like those, they did anything and everything to get their amps as under-rated as possible. Orion HCCA 250 was rated as a 2 channel amp with 50 watts--set up properly they would through down a couple thousand watts. Not only that these companies always rated in RMS (some in 8 0hm even) at half gain at 10.6V-minimum voltage for your car to run properly. Most amps today rate at peak power at full vehicle electrical signal 14.3 instead of RMS. For instance if the amp is rated 2X50@8 channel drawing 10 amps of current at 10.6V that is 106 watts total. Now lets put it in a regular vehicle running at 14.3 you now have 2 channels at 143 watts total. Now we bridge the channels quadrupling the amps output to 572 Watts RMS@4 ohms. Now we start dropping OHMs on the speakers to either 2 or 1, how low you can go depends on whether or not you are capable of pushing enough power into them. Every time you cut the ohms in half power doubles. 2 ohms (for most of them this is as low as you can go bridged) 1144 Watts RMS power@14.3 Volts--This requires some serious power on your vehicles side as it is now pulling 80 amps of steady current-Hence the 00 Gauge amp wire and 250+ watt output alternators with multiple batteries and stiffening capacitors. Peak power is generally 2-3 times what RMS is which means your Peaking at approx. 3000 watts of raw power.--Like I said depending on which 75 watt amp this is it could draw in some serious $$$ to the right person. I would pit a 15 year old Orion HCCA 2100 Against just about any other amplifier on the market today.

What two subwoofers would go best with my 800x2 rockford fosgate amplifier?

I sold my last system(a 600 watt power acoustik amp and 2 mtx 10's) and now I have an 800 wattx2 Rockford Fosgate Punch amplifier. I have a non ported box that holds 2 twelve inch subwoofers, I have 4 6x9 door speakers and a pioneer stereo. What two subs would hit best with my amplifier?

I agree with the last poster on alot of stuff. One good sub is much better than two cheap subs. The quality is much better and the output usually is at least on par.

I try to stick with the same brand when I can, so if you have a RF amp see what RF powers for subs with it. That should give you an idea of what the amp was designed to do.

I've also had good luck with JL speakers, especially the W6v2's, the Alpine Type R's, and lots of other good name brand subs.

What is the birthsheet rating for a Rockford Fosgate Punch P250.2 amplifier?

I didnt buy the amp new and i was wondering what the actual birthsheet rating of the amp was

it is not a sales gimmick, it is the actual watts that the amp is putting out after it is manufactured. Most of the fosgate amps will push more than the RMS states. People who say otherwise must buy JUNK or they aren't the mastermind they think they are.

There is no accurate way to know how many watts your amp is producing without using a meter. That is the whole idea of the birth sheet. Two amps of the same model will put out different watts. I have had 2 or more of the same identical amps and they would vary up to 100 watts or more either direction. The same applies to automobiles, one corvette same year, same model may have 30 more horsepower than the other, just to put it in perspective.
