Car Audio Amplifiers Answers
I want my system to have a crystal clear, full, rich sound, with a hard hitting, clean, tight bass. I don't like that real deep loose bass. That is why I decided to go with infinty 2 way speakers for the highs and an 8 inch subwoofer in a small sealed enclosure. I always have my treble all the way up, and I keep my mid range somewhat high. I have friends who like rap and bass music and I could never figure out why they had the bass all the way up, BUT, They turn the treble all the way down. I can't stand the way that sounds. I guess because I am into rock music. On a drum set I like when they do a drum roll and hit those small drums that kind of look like bongos. there are usually 3 of them, If you know what I mean?
So I currently haver 4 infinity 5 1/4" and I 8" sub. But I am afraid that its not going to have enough mid range bass. So I was considering adding a couple of 6 or 6.5 subs, one on each side of the 8". Based on this does it sound like I will get what I am looking for?
Also I have been trying to figure out what type of amps to get. I know what RMS I need but, I need to know what brand amps will be the best for rock? lets use the group nickback as an example. I heard for the money pyle amps are the way to go. But I also heard Pioneer amps will give me a much cleaner, crisp sound?
I am completely confused?
I need 2 amps but I really need to stay around $200 for both.
Any advice will help.
Thanks
Don't mix subs, like was already stated. Different sizes, brands, or models of the same brand even. It will sound like crap if you do. As far as brands go, Pioneer > Pyle.
Good brands, including but not limited to: Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, JL Audio, Soundstream, ARC Audio, Cadence, Diamond Audio, Focal, Dayton (subs), Precision Power, some MTX, Pioneer Premier; old school brands: Lanzar, Hifonics, and Phoenix Gold.
Mediocre brands (brands that are good for the money, but there is better): Quantum Audio, Sony ES line, Memphis, JBL (in my opinion), Pioneer, Kenwood.
Generic brands, not limited to, but including Pyramid, Boss, Lanzar (except old school Lanzars), HiFonics (again except old school, series VIII and earlier), Legacy, American Pro, Powerbass, MA Audio, Dual, Lightning Audio, Visionik, Volfenhag, Jensen, American Legacy, Audiobahn, Sony Explod line, VR3, JVC, Pyle. Any thing at Wal-Mart, or an auto parts store.
pyle 2400 watt amp, with 2 12quot; pyle subs. but the amp blows fuses if the volume is to high, it maxes out at volume 23, if anyone has any ...
I am trying to push my 2 premiers to the max and this amp has enough power to do that. Can you look these up for me to answer all my questions??
Is this amp good because I know the subs are?
What type of gauge wire should I use for this system?
What kind of capacitor should I use? 3 Farad?
Can I hook up a battery to this and how?
Show me a couple different ways I can hook up the amp and subs and tell the way where I would get the most bass??
What else should I do to optimize my system??
Any other info would be GREAT because I do not know much about this subject!!!
Thanks
whoa whoa whoa whoa. stop everything. you've got a great pair of subs, why are you trying to push them with a Pyle of crap? ok, i'll answer your questions in order.
your subs will only sound as good as your amp is. and your amp will only be as good as your subs are. if you had the best sub in the world, and hooked it up to a crappy amp, you would be disapointed, and probably blame it on the sub.
whats the rms on the 3000's? isnt it 1,000 watts? i think it is. if you really going to run a 2,000 watt system your going to need 1/0 gauge wire, and probably atleast a 200 amp inline fuse.
good rule of thumb is for every 1,000 watts of power use 1 Farad. so 2,000 watts, 2 Farad
yes, you have to buy a amp kit, and run the wire through the fire wall, under the carpet, and to the trunk.
well first off more watts doesnt always mean more bass. for example, i bet that if you hooked up your subs to your 2,000 watt Pyle amp, they wouldnt hit as hard as when you hooked them up to a 1,000 Kenwood Excelon amp.
a 2,000 watt system? upgrade the alternator to atleast 150 amp output, and get a optima red or yellow top battery.
really? could have fooled me. if you buy cheap crap (Pyle lighting audio dual) its gonna sound and act like cheap crap. go into where ever you got the Premiers from and ask them what they recomend as far as the amp goes. then go on ebay and buy it. but with your lack of knowlage i strongly, strongly recomend you let someone that knows what there doing install all of this for you. IMO your gonna get in over your head, and fast.
good luck, and post something else if you have any other questions. or you can e-mail me Metallman56@yahoo.com
