Are quantum amps good?

IIRC... no they're not.

Audiobahn subs, Quantum amp

My first system just seeing what you guys think... I have 2 10quot; audiobahns 2 12quot; audiobahns, 3000 watt quantum amp.

is QUANTUM AUDIO a good brand for AMPS?

I WANT TO PUT A QUANTUM AUDIO COZMIK SERIES 2,000 WATTS (1,000 RMS @ 1 OHM) MONO-BLOCK ON (2) 12" POWER ACOUSTIK 2,400 WATT EACH DUAL 4 OHM SUB WOOFER.....

WHAT DO YALL THINK ..

they are both mediocre at best, flea market grade, bottom rung brands that are very over rated, you would be lucky to get half of the advertised RMS wattage and it would more than likely be distorted (the main cause of sub damage)
you need to stick with CEA-compliant brands- which means that the amps have been tested and produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion and the subs can handle their advertised RMS wattage also
here are the top CEA-compliant brands
Alpine (highly recommend)
Bazooka (don't like their subs)
Blaupunkt (don't like their subs)
Clarion
Eclipse
Infinity (highly recommend)
JBL
JL Audio (very good but over priced)
Kenwood (don't like their subs)
Kicker (the best in my opinion)
MTX (highly recommend)
Pioneer
Polk Audio (highly recommend)
Rockford Fosgate (highly recommend)
Sony (don't like their subs)

it will sound like a 300watts RMS system at best and/or distorted as hell

Would a Quantum Audio 2400 watt amp be a good choice for 2 kicker L5 12" subs?

Hi, I have two kicker 12" L5 subs. They are 4 ohm each and 600 rms each. I was thinking of getting a quantum audio 4 channel 2400 watt amp mainly because of the price tag. Is this an ok choice for these subs?

You don't need a 4 channel amp. People usually buy those for the inside speakers mids/highs.

What would be a good strong amplifier to put on a set of RE SX 18's? A Quantum audio D-class, Fosgate T-4000?

I know there are plenty of strong amps out there, but what amp would really compliment these subs?

That Fosgate amp will compliment anything!

There is another brand of amp called "Linear" (NOT ultra linear, and not just "a linear amplifier"...I'm taking a brand name). They are really hard to find, but they are awesome. I haven't even found any with google (because of the circuit with the same name).

I'm also a big fan of US Amps, & Mmats. They seem to be in your price range.

What is the best way to connect my subs to my amp? I have 2 JBL Dual 2 ohms (P1222) & a Quantum audio 4000.?

I also have a custom ported box they go in that was built acording to specs...how do io hook up the dual out puts on speakers then to amp...+ - - +

Wiring them in a series/parallel combination would probably be your best bet.

Here's a diagram. Use option 2.

  • quantum digital ballasts

I just finished a grow with a 600 watt quantum. Had fantastic results with it, on these later super hot days it was great to be able to dial down the power. It also worked well for bringing veging plants off cfl lighting. It runs pretty cool and is built solid. Its only downfall is the fan it has, it makes a wind tunnel sound as it blows thru the ballast. No concern for me but if you need 100% silent then that fan will be an issue. I really like the color and even the dimmer knob feels real solid, i think it might even be real metal knob, heh. I'd buy again for sure.
