Its for a Punch 250ii I purchased around 2001.
One channel is blown and I want to find out specs and if its even worth fixing.
their website has 200.. then jumps to 300.. so model is discontinued (plus mine was cast iron and obviously a far different design)
I actually found the exact one on ebay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Rockford-Fosgate-PUN CH-250a-2-ch-amp-100-complete-NR_W0QQite mZ160318842728QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item16 0318842728

Is it really discontinued? From the sites it looked like it's still available.
some people just dont understand how this amp works. It is VERY powerful....16000 watts RMS and also SUPER clean, one of the cleanest car amps ...
P2002
Protect LED (Top of unit - Not Shown) – This Yellow LED illuminates if a short circuit or too low of
an impedance is detected at the speaker connections. The amplifier will automatically shut down if this
occurs.
What does this mean and how do i fix it
the amp is connected to my one 10 inch sub
is there a way to add impediance
if its coming on then disconnect all speakers and see if its still on. if the yellow LED is still on with no speakers then the amp has gone DC and that says the power transistors are blown.
If the light goes out with the speakers disconnected, then re-connect the speakers one at a time to find out what speaker is the problem. then either track down and repair the fault or replace the speaker

I finally got my ride almost where I want to be! However I think I might be having buyers remorse, but i haven't installed my amps yet! I was wanting to know since I am doing a 2 amp configuration! I have currenty in the box the Rockford Fosgate t400-4 which is for my front components and rears, and T1500 for my 2 /12" Rockford subwoofers! Keep in mind I haven't put this in yet! However this Alpine series the PDX has got me really intrigued the 4.150 which is 100 watts continuous power at 4 or 2ohm, where as my Rockford Fosgate is only 60 at 4 ohm! Then they have the Alpine PDX1.1000 for the mono which is 1000 continuous watts! I think my Rockford Fosgate breaks down like this T1500continuous power:
500W x 1 @ 4-Ohms RMS
1000W x 1 @ 2-Ohms RMS
1500W x 1 @ 1-Ohm RMS
So did I make a bad or good decsion by listening to the car audio people! I hear the PDX amplifiers get hot, but they put out so much power it seems for soemthing so small! Or am I simply underestimating Rockford?
Thanks for the quick reply, here's the answer to your question my 2 subs are the Rockford P3D412 dual 4 ohms, RMS/ Peak: 500 Watt /1000 watts! I got a set of MB quart signature component speakers in the front and the DTF-169 in the rear!
whats the rms and the ohms on your subs???? if i knew that it would be easier to answer
edit: as far as the amps go if your speakers can handle 100rms i would go with an amp that 100rms, but i wouldnt go with the rockford or alpine. i have nothing against rockford, but they are overpriced. and i dont like alpine. go for mtx. they are great amps and the new models even have an led setup built in that u can set to different colors to match whatever you want and gives you a lighted look without having to add neons. for the speakers id go with this http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15179
as for subs im not sure yet till you give the rms and ohms of the subs
edit: you can wire each sub to 2ohm or you can wire them 2gether down to 1ohm. for amp id go with this
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5647 _MTX+Audio+TA81001+Thunder+81001.html#
wire the subs to 2ohm and the sub has 2 inputs so u can connect each to the amp instead of going to a 1ohm load and u push the full 1000rms
