I was looking at their SPL FX1-3000D amp (need 1200 watts rms) and the SPL FX4-1200 amp ( need 400 rms). Are these amps good quality and will they give me enough power?
I've ever used them. But, It looks good on paper and the price is pretty good. I'd try it out.
4 12#39;#39; Pioneer Premier 3000 SPL dual 2 ohm Flex ! insane only 150 watt amp ! US amps USA 150x terminator , i fixed this amp myself !!!!
Does the size of the power cord have an effect on my amps total output power to make my subs beat harder. i have an spl amp and the directions say use a 4 gauge wire but im using a 6 gauge power and ground wire hook up. would changing to 4 gauge make any kind of difference?
spl z2x-1200 1200watt amp
Think of it this way. You have a pool of water a pump and two hoses. You want to empty the pool quickly. So which hose are you going to use the garden hose or the fire hose. The small hose has a greater restriction and will take much longer right. Well wiring works much the same way the larger the wire the more current can flow the better power supplied the better the sound. If your powering subs look to getting a capacitor to keep the power up on the big bass hits
That pioneer is junk.... I really don't see why people keep posting it.
I would go with either Fi BTL, RE MT, DD 9900, Kicker L7 or Solo X, MTX 9500
Personally I would go with the BTL for price reasons and performance.
70% of all winners use kicker for a reason.... because they win!
Good Luck
lol you honestly think because its the world record holder it means its a good sub? Its not hard to get 11 woofers with 157,000 watts to get loud.... any idiot could do it.....
In all honesty.... how can you say a sub with a sensitivity of of 89 dB is a "good" spl sub? Maybe if you guys would actually have some experience with some other brands you would know the difference
Oh and just to let you know.... the RE XXX stomps the sh** out of that pioneer so don't go around saying its the loudest!

I have one of the amps hooked up in my car already but, how do I wire up the second one?
Do I need to run another power wire?
More RCAs?
Another remote?
or can I just connect the amps together some how?
I also have a capacitor
Thanks for all the info!
DO NOT listen to Joshua. That's a good way to start electrical problems.
The correct way is with a distrobution block and a fuse for each amp. You can run the REM wire from to the other just fine, but not power.
I'd hate to have ANY work done on my system if that's what he does.
Are either of them CEA COMPLIANT?
If not, what's the point of buying an amp that bullsh!t's the power they actually give?
Look at cea compliant amps. They have been tested and give off the power they say, and usually, MORE.
Alpine and Rockford Fosgate are great examples of GOOD products that are cea compliant, and aren't extremely expensive.

Sub amp question, not SPL - DIY Mobile Audio
Well if he doesn't need a 1 ohm stable amp, the Clarion makes 1500w@2 ohms. Even if he ends up with a DVC 2 ohm sub, he can still run the amp at 4 and make close to 1,000w. The difference we're talking about here may be 1-2db at most though. If it came down to it for me, I'd probably get the Sundown because I like their heatsink better and Jacob treats his customers well. Even if the Sundown makes 700w or so at 2 ohms, and the Clarion makes twice that, it's not a huge difference in terms of actual output.
