audiovox car dvd player

I am trying to decide if I should buy an audiovox dvd player (D1817PK) for a road trip that I am doing with our son who will be 20 months old when we travel. Can I just strap it around the front headrest? Else, should I expect him to hold it?

The best thing to do is strap it because your son may not be able to hold it right and the DVD player might end up falling and possibly breaking.

i jammed a 2nd disc on top of the first, then opened it to get them out. now it says ther is a disc error and wolnt load any discs.

Call Audiovox and tell them "the f*ckin thing is busted! I want a new one" See what they say. If you're angry about it they might give you another one.

You can also check the documentation that came with your DVD player and see if there was "a Warantee". Usually that'll tell you the length of time that they'll cover issues. Like 90 days usually. If you're over I suggest you use the above option as it's more liekly to get you results on a replacement unit.

I just recently bought a 2005 Chev Equinox and it came with a aftermarket dvd player in it. It is an Audiovox system. The system has a screen mounted on the ceiling of the vehicle with controls also to listen to the radio station in the back. The dvd player itself is mounted on the floor on the passenger side with a AC adapter to plug in a playstation or something. The dvd player is a "moviestogo" dvd player. I have wireless infared headphones (2 of them) that are named brand audiovox and a remote controller for the dvd player. I finally figured out the sound to play through the car speakers, you have to tune it to a specific radio station and it plays.. but the headphones do not have sound. They are on, the red light is on but no sound. And I also cant hear the radio for the back. If you know how to work this, please answer away!!

I have the thing that connects to the wall and to the cigarette lighter so, do I need the big battery that connects to the back in order to play it in the car ?

If you have the player I'm thinking of, you only need to plug it into your cigarette lighter to give it the power needed to watch your DVDs.The thing that connects to the wall should be a 12v power inverter that you can use at home to watch DVDs in the comfort of your house. You can try this link and see if they have the buyers guild for your DVD player.
