car dvd player screen

I have a car dvd player... Dual xdvd700 everything I thought was connected right. Everything works, but the screen... I can barely barely see it.but its there and on... Is there an illumination wire I'm missin? Its like the screen has no backlight? Please help me! Thanks!

Did you hook up the orange illumination wire? If so, then make sure your dash lights and everything are turned up. If not then try disconnecting the orange wire (I never hook up the illumination). If you are still having problems then either contact your local stereo shop or Dual.

wal-mart sells the durabrand dual screen dvd player and the polaroid dvd player. i am trying to find out if durabrand is a good brand name or should i stick with polaroid. the durabrand has a lcd-tft screen which is better than the polaroid lcd screen, but is that enough reason to choose it?

No, I'm pretty sure Durabrand is Wal-mart's store brand or something. I've never bought a Durabrand product, but they are all very cheap, so I doubt they are a high quality brand. Polaroid is a brand you can trust.

I had the DVH-P5000MP in my Blazer with a flip down screen and it worked wonders for what I needed for the price

Now for my Integra I went with something flashier AVH-P5100DVD

I have the Jensen Overhead system and all of the sudden, the screen is playing the DVDs, but with a line through the middle, and the picture seems to be split, like the bottom of the picture plays at the top and the top portion plays at the bottom of the screen. I'm a military wife and my husband is deployed, I need help! My kids cant live without this thing!
Yes, i know my kids CAN live without it, but try being a temporary single mom of 3 and driving across the country! Please dont answer just to be mean.

Try to blow into where the DVD goes in, maybe there is some dust in there. If that doesn't work. try a lens cleaner.
