car dvd player usb

My in-dash dvd player/ radio/ cd player/ gps has RCA inputs on the rear and a mini usb input on the front. I was wondering if I could use a usb to rca adapter and mate it to my 500gb hard drive, but I don't think they would recognize each other. Are my assumptions correct? Also, is there any way to access the front usb input on the front from the rear?

if you get a hard drive with a single usb plug it will work. but it might be hard to find a external hard drive case that uses 1 usb as power and data out put, most have usb for data out and a power plug for power, you can get one of those but then you have to get a power converter that plugs in to the cig lighter but there $20 from walmart.
if you have just movies and songs on the hard drive it should work, it worked on my deck. the problem i had was that my hard drive had a program on it so all my deck would do was try to read the program.but then i deleted that progarm it worked.

I bought Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD player from US and fit to my car. When i connect pen drive or other deveices thru USB it will not detect and instead it will blink all other items as like demo. Help me how to connect thru USB in car DVD players. How to resolve this problem?

I don't know where it is on the unit, but there is a small hole with a button inside it...sometime you have to put a pin in the hole and push the button to reset the unit...just an Idea

looks to me like a cheap piece of crap knock off. those usually last about as long as it takes to install them.

when it comes to electronics like that, you are always better off getting the read deal. so it might cost more, but it will look better, last longer, and most importantly, sound better.

mY opinion. I have a 1450 watt system in my car I built, and it wasnt cheap. the funny thing, is mine is so much louder and sounds better than these kids that buy those 2000 watt chepo amps.

Quality means everyhting in stereo systems.
