car indash dvd player

i was bought the sony mex dv 2000 indash dvd player. a lot of people say sony sucks and they dont last long. is this new indash dvd player good, is sony car dvd players better than jvc arsenal. what brands make the best indash car dvd players. does the sony mex-dv2000 indash dvd player compare witrh models like jvc or eclpise alpine costing much more.

And what is it that your car DVD player has to do with "Home Theater Electronics", the subject of this forum? I think you want the "Cars & Transportation - Car Audio" forum.

Here is a video of a Pioneer AVH P5000 installed with the parking brake bypass

It needs to be reset in order for it to light up. It is wired correctly. Aside from being the unit itself that may not be working correctly, there is a fuse that is found on the yellow battery wire. The fuse seems fine, and the previous indash player worked fine.

This is basically what happens:
1. I turn on the car, but the unit does not light up.
2. I hit reset.
3. The unit lights up.
4. I turn off the car.

5. If I turn on the car again, the unit does not light up.
6. I need to hit reset for the unit to turn on.

The unit is a model TS-393 (also known as DV-393) made by Avatar Electronics Ltd. You can find the unit on eBay be those model numbers.
I drive a 1999 RAV 4. Something tells me it may be the fuse in the middle of the yellow wire on the unit. My old unit did not have one, what would happen if I were to eliminate it altogether, would the fuse from the car handle it?

It sounds as though your 12 volt accessory (typically a red wire) is not connected properly. This wire is what signals the unit to turn on and off with the vehicle. Either that, or the 12 volt constant wire (typically yellow) is connected to a 12 volt swithed power source.

Double check all your wiring - if all wiring is confirmed correct, there may be a problem within the unit itself, but it is impossible to tell with the little information you provided. Additionally, there are certain vehicles (you did not include the make and model of yours) that do not have a 12 volt switched power source behind the radio.

I was wondering how I play music videos in my car dvd player?

If u mean watch the screen while driving, then just ground the brake wire from the stereo wires and u can watch movies while u drive and not just when its parked. There should be a wire labeled brake wire in the stereo wires and u just ground it with the ground wire in the harness or ground to the vehicle chasis itself.

this is easy i did this with my car cut the wire that runs from your parking brake to your parking brake sensor, dont worry your parking brake will still work but the car wont sense if its on or off, in my car it was a green wire that was on the left side of my parking brake

im trying to install my kenwood kvt-617dvd player in my car and i don't know what to do with the parking and reverse sensor wires and also the mute wire.Can someone please help me.its going in a honda accord.ineed it to work when i'm driven.thanks
