Car DVD Players Answers

I have a car DVD/MP3 player can I burn videos on to a regular?

I want to burn movies on regular CD (not on a DVD cd) and then watch them. Is that posible or do I have to use a DVD CD. I do not have the DVD player yet I am about to order it. It is a PLDMN65 "Pyle Pro".

Yes, use the VCD format, your player supports this.

To help answer this question, it would be very useful to know what kind of DVD/MP3 player you have.

------------------
From what I can see, I don't think you can add navigation functions to that unit.

Some manufacturers offer add-on navigation systems made specifically to work with the same brand in-dash A/V head unit. I don't see anything to suggest that such an option is available for yours, though.

If you find a portable GPS unit with a video output jack, you might be able to link it to the in-dash unit so that the nav picture is on your screen. Of course, this would only work if the safety interlock is bypassed; and you wouldn't be able to control the GPS unit through your head unit, so there's not much point.

How do i fit hundreds of mp3 songs on a cd? Does a dvd with music play on a car mp3 player?

I need to know how to make the most music files fit on a cd to play on my car mp3 player? I've converted music on my computer to mp3 format, but how to fit more on a cd. And another thing, if i burn music (mp3's) to a dvd, will that play on my car mp3 player? thank you

It's all down to compression rate - you can record MP3s with 4x compression rate, then logically you would get 4 times as many songs as you would on a CD.
Or you could use 44x compression rate, and they would all sound like Pinky & Perky. I guess "something off of Sesame Street" would convey my meaning.
I changed my car (with a 6 CD changer) last year, for a model which had only a dash mount single slot CD. Tedious and dangerous! The cost for a boot mounted changer was excessive, so I was all set to buy an MP3 player -as good as 4 CDs, minimum! Then I spotted that SOME in-car DVD players would play MP3s. Actually they all would play MP3s from CD, but some would play them from DVD...
I laid out £400 on an Alpine DVA9860R - superb!
I have only burned one DVD so far, with 28 CDs on it at 4x compression. I used Roxio to put each CD in it's own folder... to switch folders: press one button, twist the dial, the display shows the name of the next folder. When you reach the one you want, push the dial.
It's been harder identifying a Home Theatre system which will decode MP3s from DVD - but that's another story...

My car mp3 player will only recognize one album/folder on a disc that I burned 3 albums to?

I have a Ford Expedition 2007 with in-dash mp3 player...I burned 3 albums to a disc in mp3 format. My computer recognized them and will play all 3. My dvd/mp3 player will play all 3. The in-dash in my suv will only recognize one album and play it...It says other folders not found...I burned it using Windows Media Player (latest edition) with XP and chose data format when I burned it...Any ideas?

its probably cuz its also a dvd player. my indash dvd player recongnizes the folders but when i play the folder, it can only do 1 and cant go back to choose another 1. it needs the folder options on the stereo, i had 1 of those stereos before and worked fine. just burn them in mp3 form with no folders.

Can I burn movies on a regular CD and Watch them on my car DVD player?

Hi
I have ordered a PLDMN65 "Pyle Pro" It is a DVD/MP3/CD player and I do not have it yet but I want to know if I can burn movies on regular CD and watch them or do I have to Burn them on DVD cds?

yes you can

Don't listen to anyone that says you can't. I have PERSONALLY done it before.

Burning video onto a CD would make it what's called a VCD (Video Compact Disc)

The thing is that CD's don't hold as much info as a DVD, so to put a whole movie onto CD, you'd probably need to use 2 or more CD's. You'd also need the right kind of burner software if you only have a CD burner (and NOT a DVD burner), since most are designed to only burn music and documents onto CD
