Car DVD Players Answers

How can I get my car stereo to play my portable DVD player? Initial DVD-1731?

There is a phones jack, an audio jack, a video and coaxial jack; all 1/4". Is there an adapter I can buy that will go into the tape player for my car stereo? I use to have one for my old Sony Walkman so I could play CD's through my tape player before I had a CD player in the car.

Thanks

Yep ask the dude at radio shack to show you what it looks like.

Can DVD's be recorded with mp3/wma audio and played through a portable (car) dvd player?

For instance, rather than buying a new CD deck for my car, would it be smarter to just buy a portable DVD player, and record my music to DVD (in order to hold much more songs per disc). Do most portable DVD systems play audio-only discs? or am i way off track? lol

you can play regular cds on a portable dvd player or you could buy a cd player that is mp3 compatible. You can burn over 100 mp3s on to cds. I would reccomend just getting an ipod or something with a car adaptor. It holds tons of songs and you would be able to take it anywhere

HELP! Can i build a portable DVD player into a car? 10 Ponits if sbn has a solution!?

10 PONITS FOR FIRST PERSON WITH REASONABLE ANSWER!!!
So i have a portable dvd player. The problem is that you have to slide it up to insert a dvd and the buttons are on the side...
this is my dvd player

I thought that maybe i could build this somehow into the headrest of my car!
The problem is that i woudnt have acess to all the buttons on the side wich would b no problem cause i have the remote! I know that i cant use the dvd player function when its in the headrest but is there any possibility or adapter or anything with wich i could acess the sd card slot and watch movies i put on my sd card???
Or could i even dissasemble the dvd player, just use the screen and attach another dvd player somere else in the car to the screen?
Thank you!

I think it is possible for you to integrate that into your headrest of your carseat. However, you'd have to manually cut out a piece of the car taht you would like to build it into. Keep in mind that this may negate the warranty of the car for tampering with it and that if you don't cut out a piece to put in the portable DVD, it could be a dangerous hazard if not attached properly. If your DVD player works with input from an SD card, all you have to do is connect the SD card to the computer and copy a movie file or whatever you want to watch onto it (There is usually a small SD slot in newer computers to do this, but if your computer doesn't, you can always buy an SD card adapter at Best Buy). If your DVD player can play it, there should be no problem there.

Best of luck.

Would it be possible to burn the audio tracks of a movie on to a CD, to play on your cd player?

I have a very long drive to work and would like to listen to some funny movies on the car's CD player. I don't have a portable DVD player, nor do I want one. I just want to be able to listen to the movies.

Any tips appreciated.

There are programs that will extract the sound from a DVD. Of course you have to then go in and take out the parts you want (usually it's the songs people want) Or edit the movie down to 72 minutes because that's all that will fit on a CD.

Google 'DVD audio extractor' and you'll see several programs to do this. I have a preference for 'open source' programs because (1) they are free and (2) with open source you know there is no funny business--spyware or whatever.
