car radio dvd cd player

I'm having a little problem.Today, I bought a Car Radio Dash Kit. I'm going to take ou the stock CD radio player and replace it with a in dash DVD cd player. I've been looking on ebay and found some I really like. The thing is I don't know the dimensions of the dash kit. Could somebody help me find the right one that will fit perfectly?

My in-dash dvd player/ radio/ cd player/ gps has RCA inputs on the rear and a mini usb input on the front. I was wondering if I could use a usb to rca adapter and mate it to my 500gb hard drive, but I don't think they would recognize each other. Are my assumptions correct? Also, is there any way to access the front usb input on the front from the rear?

if you get a hard drive with a single usb plug it will work. but it might be hard to find a external hard drive case that uses 1 usb as power and data out put, most have usb for data out and a power plug for power, you can get one of those but then you have to get a power converter that plugs in to the cig lighter but there $20 from walmart.
if you have just movies and songs on the hard drive it should work, it worked on my deck. the problem i had was that my hard drive had a program on it so all my deck would do was try to read the program.but then i deleted that progarm it worked.

I recently just purchased a in dash dvd/cd reciever to replace my factory radio. The cd and everything else works great but when i take the car out of park a blue screen pops up and says that its iilegal to drive while watching a movie and the movie will not show a picture until the car is in park. I thought that was so stupid. I mean I understand their promoting safety and all but whats the point of having a dvd player in the car if you cant watch it. I mean how much am i going to really be in park. Also what if i have other passengers in the car and they want to watch a movie, they cant because of this stupid feature. So if anybdy can help me or know any tricks that i can use to turn off this feature please let me know, because the company that i got it from is entirely no help.

The unit has a wire that is connected to the e-brake and depending on your model needs to be grounded or hooked up to a 12volt feed.

-Note:( In response to all those who post below, the argument that anyone who tells you how to do this(Obvious: Freedom of Speech, Constitutional Right) or the manufacturer can get sued is false,( This would only be the case if the safety system was either non-existent or faulty, in this case it is neither because the consumer is voiding the warranty and manually modifying the component for unsafe use))

My Jensen VM9510 in dash unit is having some issues with the sound on CD/DVD mode. Radio mode and TV mode are working great but when I turn to CD/DVD mode the sound coming from the speakers are making a loud hissing and crackling noise. Visually, it plays the DVDs and CDs great but the hissing and crackling are louder than the music from the discs. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Everything else on the cd player works like normal >

All of the buttons are fine,
All of the switches are working fine,
The radio even works like normal,
It powers OFF and ON fine too,
And nothing else seems out of the ordinary,

EXCEPT IT WILL NOT PLAY CDS!!
all that comes up on the screen is "00:00:00"

This is not normal because i've had it for about 1 year and it has been playing EVERY TYPE OF CD AND DVD AND MP3 AND CD-RW JUST FINE!!

This is odd because it just stopped playing while i was driving today
HELP PLEASE!!

I don't think it has anything to do with my amp or subs....
does it?
I have a 3000 watt AMP and 2 12" Kenwood 2400 watt subs...
I checked the fuses on my amp after this happened and they are fine,
I have been using them with this cd player for about 2 months and never had any problems like this before

u have to get a laser lens cleaner theysell it at wal-mart its about 7 bucks cuz my dad's stcok chevy cd player did dat and he bought dat and it helped
