dvd player car power adapter

I got a Venturer Dual screen DVD player for my car as a Christmas gift.. The requirements are a 12v thing... where the cigarette lighter thing goes... it's a 12v, but I can't get the thing to fit!
Anyone else had this issue? How the hell do I make it fit? I've tried gently squeezing the metal prongs on the side of the adapter (that's what wont go in) but I'm afraid if I squeeze too hard I will crush the fuse inside. Any ideas?

check with car audio shop.you might need a different cable(10-15 bucks).

Some time ago, at one of the "Black Friday" (day-after-Thanksgiving) sales I bought a "Digital Labs" 7 inch portable DVD player (Model # DL730-PD) from Circuit City (I think?)

Anyway, over time, the cord of the AC adapter (Model # OPT-A020-9A) has become extremely frayed and unusable. I have looked online for a replacement AC adapter to buy, but I have NOT been able to locate any.

I have contacted Circuit City as well as looked online, but have not been able to find any contact information for "Digital Labs", so I can't ask them where I could get a replacement AC adapter.

Though I have the battery pack, it doesn't last very long, and once it runs out, the only way to recharge it will be to have to keep it plugged into the car's cigarette lighter, while its running continuously for a few hours!

Since I have the DC adapter, and as it has only been used once or twice, it is in pretty GREAT condition.

So I'm wondering if there is a device in which I can plug the DC adapter in one end, and at the other end is a AC adapter plug that I can plug into the home wall electrical outlet, so that I can use my DVD player indoors at home without having to rely on the battery or stay in the car to watch it from the DC outlet.

I KNOW that there are inverters to convert AC adapters to a DC adapter, but is there any device that does the REVERSE, and inverts DC adapter to AC power??

Your old a.c. adapter should have its specifications on a label.

You need to know its output voltage and current.

You can use any make of a.c. adapter as long as its output voltage is the same as yours, and its maximum current is at least as high as yours.

You will have to check the size of the plug which goes into the DVD player and its polarity. (If you can locate an adapter, speak to a repair shop and ask them to check the polarity and change it if its wrong.)

I have a portable dvd player but the battery pack doesn't last too long. I want to pug it in to a cigarette lighter in a car to get power where would I get one. My cousin had one I used once that worked on mine and now I want to get one myself.
I would prefer to buy in store because I need it Sunday.

Try Best Buy, Circuit City, or Radio Shack. If they don't have it, try the Internet.

I'm looking for a cigarette lighter adapter that could power my portable DVD player. My player is powered by a 9V DC IN power cable is there any adapters with an lead that could power my player :D?
