dvd player with usb port

I have an external hard drive which is in NTFS format. I also have a dvd player that has a usb port on it. I can plug a pen drive into the dvd player and it reads the files. But it wont read them when I plug in my external hard drive. Is it in the right format? I dont know if this is the right place to ask this question...

A DVD player that reads USB devices? I Was not aware that this existed. But if it reads a flash drive they are usually fat32 so try formatting with fat32.

I have DVD player with USB port. I tried MP3, Photo images with pen drive and it runs nicely. But if I copy VCD format file (AVSEQ01.dat) (With supporting files also) it does't runs on player. How to make pendrive to run VCD films of player

I think you have to convert your VCD file to mp4 video at first, because most DVD player that has USB port supports only mp4 video. If you don't know how to do that, here is a guide for you

I have a new flatscreen for my laptop and would like to connect a standalone dvd player to it so that I can watch dvds on the nice big screen.
It does not have a scart port. Does have USB and DVI ports. DVD players I have looked at , including portable, don't seem to have the capability to connect to the screen. Any ideas?

You cannot just hook up a monitor to a TV device. Monitors for computers and TV screens are different, they use a different system to display the images.

You need to connect your DVD player into a computer with a TV card capable of converting the dignal. You would be faer better off buying a proper TV screen.

I bought a Handheld DVD player, and when it arrived i saw it had a USB port. does anyone know why it might have this? i guess you must be able to put some files onto it, but what files and why?

It could be used for playing external video from a hard drive/thumbdrive or firmware updates to name a couple....
