headphones for car dvd player

Our car DVD player only came with ONE set of headphones & we have 2 kids. Can I buy any brand, or do I need to somehow match it up with the type of DVD player we have? We have a Jensen brand.

I just recently bought a 2005 Chev Equinox and it came with a aftermarket dvd player in it. It is an Audiovox system. The system has a screen mounted on the ceiling of the vehicle with controls also to listen to the radio station in the back. The dvd player itself is mounted on the floor on the passenger side with a AC adapter to plug in a playstation or something. The dvd player is a "moviestogo" dvd player. I have wireless infared headphones (2 of them) that are named brand audiovox and a remote controller for the dvd player. I finally figured out the sound to play through the car speakers, you have to tune it to a specific radio station and it plays.. but the headphones do not have sound. They are on, the red light is on but no sound. And I also cant hear the radio for the back. If you know how to work this, please answer away!!

I have a 1 1/2 year old that likes to watch a dvd in factory installed DVD player in dodge grand caravan. He will not keep the headphones that came with it on and I don't want to listen to his cartoons all the time either through the car speakers. It does have the white/red/yellow plugs for a playstation or aux but it is only input not output. Is there anyway to get a speaker or something so that he can hear the sound from his dvd player without going through the car speakers?

Set your radio so only the rear speakers work and turn it down.

I have one of the cheep ass in car DVD players I have not used it for years and just dug it out for a long trip with the kids i have next week. Anyway it all works fine good picture etc however when I plug in a headset (it has no internal speekers) i get a buzzing noise! as soon as I switch it on even before I start the movie it is buzzing away. Any ideas at all I am happy to buy a set of speekers for it but dont want to if its bust. I know the headphones I am using work as they work on my PC no problem

Please excuse my ignorance on this subject, but my daughter and I are going on a 10 hr road trip in 1 month. I was wanting something that plugs into the car, goes in the backseat, and she can watch movies or play games...with headphones!! lol. Thank you so much!
PS if there is not something that does both, then just a good brand of portable DVD player will do
