Car DVD Players Answers
Ok so I bought this headrest dvd player from ebay and the sounds is not working. Everything (video) except the sound is working. Can you please tell me what is wrong with it. And by the way i'm installing it on a Chevy Avalanche 2008.
there should be speaker wires running from the dvd player out of the headrest, youve got to tie those wires into your factory speakers to get sound unless youve got on with built in speakers, but those are rare

Does anyone have either a flip down dvd player or the dvd players in the headrests of their car/van/truck/suv? If you can you please tell me the pros and cons of them. We are looking to get one or the other for our dodge sport caravan for long trips that we take with 3 kids under the age of 8. If you could please also state how much you paid for it, where you got it from, and where you got it installed and the cost of the instillation. Thanks!
I had a truck that my nephews and I always took long road trips in. What we had was an 8" flip down t.v. that had RCA hookups. This meant that the kids could hookup their gaming systems and play together as opposed to them fighting over what movie to watch or whatever. The t.v.'s in the headrest are much more expensive and require longer time for install which in turn means more $$.
The flip down also meant that it could be a bigger screen, being that most headrests are tiny compared to the space in the cabin of your van. A bigger t.v. means the kids wont have to squint to watch it and it wont be right in front of their faces which could damage their eyes over time.
The flip down only cost about $175 total. This included the television (from the local pawn shop/swap shop/flea market etc) and professional install from any local audio place. I knew t.v. was name brand, but someone sold it to a pawn shop so their loss was my gain.
hope this helps!

So, I need to get two 7'' DVD players inserted into the back of two headrests. I've only been able to find monitors meaning they don't have the DVD players with them. My question is... Where can I get them???
Serious answers only please.
Thanks in advance.
DEFINATELY, not a mom yet. Just want to trick out my car.
well is this just vanity or are you a mother of kids going out on a family vacation?
b/c if its just vanity to make your car look good or if its just for friends than the answer is its a waste of money...you might as well buy a portable dvd player and buy a strap or harness to attach it in between the two seats...dont forget to buy a converter adaptor as it might run out of battery.
you can check autoshops such as Pepboys , ACE, or Autozone....but if they dont have them in these places you can GOOGLE it and find related sites that may sell them...or better yet check any local audio/digital car shops that would be inclined to sell audio appliances and/or automobile entertainment devices.

I was wondering what are some good brands and if it is possible to watch different things on each monitor, but also able to watch the same thing on each monitor if wanted to?
for good brands i would say pioneer and sony, im not too sure if you can watch different things on each monitor or at the same time, but i think there should be a way.
Is there a "technical" term - because I can't seem to find one online and when I ask if stores the clerks look at me like I'm crazy.
Thanks! We just bought one and because the strap was missing we were able to get it for about $110 [for dual screens] but our kids are so young they drop it more than they watch it. =]
Tether strap or an adjustable velcro strap.
I have the dual screens in my minivan for my 2 and 5 yr olds, best investment.
