How can I get my car stereo to play my portable DVD player? Initial DVD-1731?

There is a phones jack, an audio jack, a video and coaxial jack; all 1/4". Is there an adapter I can buy that will go into the tape player for my car stereo? I use to have one for my old Sony Walkman so I could play CD's through my tape player before I had a CD player in the car.

does any body know why a DVD player that was install in my car, has to work with the temperature?

We install the dvd in my car 8 months ago, they only gave us 6 months warranty exactly the time that star giving us problems
some times you can see it but no hear it, or you can hear it but no see it , some times does not turn on at all.
I been tring with the manual but still we don't
see any reason why it does not work , the manual said that
the unit, it needs to warm up to work or we need to check the frequency but we check the frequency and still does not work, can somebody help? My children are very upset I can believed
we pay $ 500.00 dollars for this and it only last 6 months.A t the begining work real good I don't know what happend.

It doesnt need to warm up to work. If it's freezing cold outside an LCD screen can look funny, but not go dead completely.
I think a wire is loose somewhere. Go to a place nearby to have them checkit out. Wont cost much

Why do you people like to drive cars with bells & whistles?

I don't understand it at all. I am 16 years old. I drive a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle. It has power nothing, no frills, no bells and whistles, just a body, an engine, a few seats, and four wheels. Why would I need anything else? I have about $12K in it ($4K initial, $8K stock and correct restoration to immaculate show condition). $12K can buy me a car with many frills, but I chose to have no frills (hell, I made the money myself). Why would I need power steering, or power brakes? Those two things are stupid and unnecessary. Why would I need a transmission that shifts itself? I can very well shift myself, and I heavily prefer to. Why would I need a nice sound system that would be distracting to my driving? Why would I need a/c? I have swivel windows. Why would I need a button that makes my window go up and down, or one that makes my seat do 50 different things? I can crank a window and I can push my seat back myself. Why do I need a DVD player that plays movies on my dashboard? That's why I have this thing called a TV. Why would I need hundreds of horsepower? I have 46 horsepower and it has more overall power than a Nissan Versa and a Scion xA (I've driven both, the Beetle has so much more low end power). What is the point of having any of those fancy doo da's? My main question- why do you "need" them?


its not about need, its about want. i like to be comfortable in 90 degree weather while sitting in traffic, so i have an air conditioner.

Why do you have a car? you don't need one. you could always walk, or ride a bicycle. Why do you need a show quality beetle? there are less perfect ones out there for much less money....

    I was lucky enought to find this little dvd player on a garage sale. So no warranty. I hope I’m not jinxing myself by leaving this review. I didn’t know anything about them, but saw it on a garage sale and figured what the heck. It was . The lady told me her husband had taken it to Iraq when he was deployed and she had bought a new one and they didn’t need two. That’s why she was selling it. I was skeptical of it really working well, but I’ve had it about a week and have had no problems. She told me her husband was in Iraq for 15 months. I don’t know if he had it over there the whole time, or how much he used it, but I know it wasn’t just a couple months old either. And it’s working great! I’m glad I didn’t see the negative reviews on this website before I bought it or I wouldn’t have. And I’m glad I did. From reading the reviews, it looks like it’s hit and miss with this one, but mine works GREAT. (Knock on wood)
