Car DVD Players Answers
Do the DVD copies play normally in any other DVD players (besides the recorder you used to make the copies)? If not - it's because you didn't "finalize" the DVD copies. The last step in preparing a recorded DVD to play in all DVD players is to "finalize" them. This adds a "menu" and closes the DVD so that nothing more can be written to the tracks on the DVD itself. If you don't finalize your copy - it will only play back correctly on the device that recorded it. When you insert one of your DVD copies into the car DVD player, does it attempt to read it and then tell you "No disc" or "error." If so - your DVD copies are probably not finalized.
If the DVD copies play normally in other DVD players EXCEPT for the Jensen car player - then either the recording format is not compatible with the Jensen car DVD player, or the player itself may be defective. Does it play pre-recorded DVDs OK? Could be that the car DVD player's laser lens is dirty/dusty, or the laser output power is reduced to the point where it cannot read the tracks on the DVD.
Jensen Multimedia Receiver With 3.5quot; Monitor (VM8012) - Satellite Radio Ready mp3 ipod sd card capable and subwoofer control
My Jensen VM9510 in dash unit is having some issues with the sound on CD/DVD mode. Radio mode and TV mode are working great but when I turn to CD/DVD mode the sound coming from the speakers are making a loud hissing and crackling noise. Visually, it plays the DVDs and CDs great but the hissing and crackling are louder than the music from the discs. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Press the reset button on the unit. If that doesn't work check the wires of the installation harness, wires of the speakers, and RCA wires if you are using an aftermarket amplifier.

I bought a 2007 charger and I got my 2 year old son one of them jensen vm9312HD car dvd players and it wont play while the car is in motion. Can anyone help me to figure this out r tell me where to go for help? Thanks a million!
I had this same problem, if it plays when its parked then it has a little safety feature that involves a wire, maybe pink in color for your headunit that will only allow it to play when parked. Now if you splice it into the red or yellow, I'd choose red since its not constant, it will play movies anytime.
If it won't play them even when parked then it is not hooked up to a wire or its hooked up to ground and therefor should be hooked to a positive wire, red or yellow. If you didn't put it in yourself then you can take it to an audio shop, maybe check in phonebook for someone local.
But the easy way would be to use a bypass code since there is ojne for your hu. I copy these instructions from ecoustics.com
http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/ ...
The parking brake bypass procedure is as follows:
1: Go into AM/FM mode
2: Hit "setup" on the remote control
3: Enter 543210 on the remote, listening for the beep for each number entered
4: A new menu will appear. Touch the button that has the hammer/screwdriver on it in the upper left-hand part of the screen.
5: Select Brake bypass to "ON" and hit the "X" near the bottom of the screen.
6: Use the unit wisely and above all safely. A ticket is one thing, causing a fatal accident due to negligence is another.
I don't know if it really works but you could try it, if not use the wiring method above.
I barely use this CD/DVD player. Earlier today I played a CD with no problems, but an hour later, nothing would work in the drive. I have a Jensen CD-DVD car player -- model VM9311TS. I cannot insert a CD/DVD into the slot, and the receiver does not pull it in as it used to. When I push the eject button, I can hear a spinning sound. Is there something I can do to repair this problem? Thanks for your help.
The loading drive belt may have broken.
