jwin dvd player

i bought Jwin JD-VD519 DVD player yesterday at military base in japan. i was told this is a region free player, but i cannot see japanese DVD at all. do i need any setting to work on this?

Open tray,
press 9735
select 0 for free REGION,
setup again to exit.

All the research I've done doesn't say anything about what specific Region the players are. The best way to find out is to look on the packaging. Usually the players sold in the specific areas will be made to that specific area's region. However, some places, such as a military installation in the middle east, will have Region 1 DVD players only because people tend to buy a player there and have movies with them.

I just bought a jWin JD-VD609 home theater system. It has a DVD receiver. I want to run my digital cable box and the this unit, however, I don't know how to hook it up. The DVD player works fine through the speakers, but I am unable to adjust the volume when watching cable. I need hook up help for this particular system.

I would like to help you, but jWin doesn't even have the manual for this product on their website. If it is similar to the JD-VD509, then it doesn't even switch video or audio, and your cable can't be connected.

The fact that you hear sound while watching cables means it has some sort of aux. audio input. In general, pre-amps have 2 inputs: fixed volume and variable. You might have plugged into the wrong one. I assume you plugged the video from your cablebox straight to the TV.

If I were you I'd return this product. Even if budget was the concern you are better off listening in stereo until you can afford something better. You get what you pay for.
