I have a Philips Portable DVD player.The model is PET702/37.It came with a cord that looks like you can plug video games into it.

Most likely you can. A lot of them have a video input mode which lest you use them as a monitor for a standard A/V signal.

I am using dvd decrypt then dvd shrink and burning with intervideo. I am using Philips RW DVD discs. The process seems to work but when I try to play the dvd it makes a scratchy sound when loading, they will play on my cheapo dvd player at home, but the purpose of copying them was so that I can use them in the car with the portable philips dvd so that I can keep my three year old son happy. Any ideas? A couple of times I have got a "cyclic error" when tying to burn. Generally it says "loading"and then nothing happens, or its says "no disc" Can anyone help

I don't really know alot about burning DVD's. I do know that if I try to burn my cd's or mp3 disks to fast, they won't play in some players. Try slowing your burn speed down.

I personally feed that buying it is not quite worth it. I would suggest you to check out the new Cowon D2 Video Player. Its compact - plays unplugged for a good 8hrs on the move. I have a philips portable dvd player, the other day it just stopped playing dvds... the dvd would start spinning like it was going to play and said loading on the screen for about 20 seconds then said No Disc. I tried several different DVD's (all of which had played in the player previously)and it did the same thing every time. I put a music CD in and it played fine. I tried a lens cleaner, still not playing DVDs. Any clue as to why it will play CD's and not DVD's?

The lens or other optical components are dirty, or the DVD laser has gone out of spec.
