portable divx player

this player plays normal dvd discs perfectly, but with divx files they are stretched... even though when played on computer they have a perfect aspect ratio.
ive noticed this with every dvd divx player ive seen so it must be pretty common.

I bought a Toshiba portable DVD f="/Home-Speakers/Speakers-Not-Playing-Sound/">player about two years ago. I was in a rush and didn't check to see if it supported anything other than the DVD format.

So is there a way I can make it play other formats?

Otherwise, I'll have to convert everything I want to watch, and I can't find a good freeware that will do so with a watermark. Help?

I think that you are out of luck trying to make you DVD player play DivX. If it isn't factory ready, you can't make it do it.

that it only plays PAL television. I live in the US and what do we use NTSC or PAL? Thank You

Movies and TV in the USA are in NTSC format.

Portablilty is the key. It is much easier to carry around a portable divx player than it is a PC. Also a the portable divx player does not require any PC knowledge to use it.

Personally I use my laptop to play DVD's on the screen in the car when I am on the road but I can do that simply because I know how to work a PC. Because my friends and family members know nothing about working a PC, the portable DVD player is a better option for them.
