portable dvd player car adapter

I have a portable dvd player but the battery pack doesn't last too long. I want to pug it in to a cigarette lighter in a car to get power where would I get one. My cousin had one I used once that worked on mine and now I want to get one myself.
I would prefer to buy in store because I need it Sunday.

Try Best Buy, Circuit City, or Radio Shack. If they don't have it, try the Internet.

I purchased a Polaroid 7" Two Screen Portable DVD Player today. Everytime I plug in the dc car adapter the 2amp fuse blows. My car has a 12v outlet. I have tried a new 2amp fuse and a new 2amp slow blow fuse. What could my problem be?

Your DVD player may try to get more than 2 Amps!
Check the specs on the power supply of your Player.

24W (2x12) may not be enough to power your Player.
If that's not the case, then there is a short..

Where can I find a wall adapter to charge it? Is the V the same?

Radio Shack is a good place to look for DC power supplies. A 9.5v supply would be best but if that is not available then a 9v one will probably work just fine.

Bring the DVD player to the store and make sure that the connector on the wall power supply fits the connector on the player. Also, note that the connector has an inside and an outside lead. Be sure to check that the polarity (whether + is on the inside or outside lead) of the DVD player and the power supply connector match. This should be marked on the DVD player near the power connector and on the main part of the wall power supply. Do not connect the wrong polarity because it might damage the DVD player.

I have a portable DVD player and I also have a 5 hour flight ahead of me and two toddlers who need to be occupied. Is there some kind of way to keep the player charged on the plane? I have a cigarette lighter charger for the car and a regular charger for a regular outlet, but is there something I cna use to keep it charged on the plane to keep "my people" occupied? Thanks!

Not on a plane. There is no power outlet for you to recharge batteries. Additionally, batteries do not recharge instantly, so your flight would be over before your player was recharged.

Your only option is to bring a second player along. Or do like parents did a few years ago before portable DVD players were invented.
