Car DVD Players Answers

can i mount a portable dvd player to my car seat with non-adjustable headrests?

I don't have headrests that are adjustable and I am looking to buy a portable dvd player for the car but not sure if the holders or mounting straps they have, would work. Any ideas much appreciated!:)Thank You

Hi, Well i know that mounting straps work about 90% of the time, so..
Give it a go, if it doesnt work you could also velcro the back of the dvd screen to the seat, therefore it's removable,(doesn't attravt theives)
Efficient and should hold great!!
Might cost you a couple of dollars but hey, its a great alternative.

Goodluck!

Car portable dvd player and battery effect?

i want to mount a portable dvd player in my sis car as she is driving to canada for summer with kids ,its 12 hrs drive ,just want to know does it`ll effect her car battery.she owns Camry 2001.
Does all portable car dvd players have same battery usage

When the car is on the road, the battery is not used except it is being charged. On the other hand dynamo replaces battery function, so there is no question of affecting car battery.

Reliable tablet style portable DVD player with safe in-car mounting?

Ok, I'm stumped. I am looking for a portable DVD player. I like the tablet style so it doesn't have to sit like an "L" to be played on the back of the headrest in my car. I am also looking for a safe mounting option for it. These belts and buckles included in the portable carrying cases just don't look safe. I am going to be using it for my daughter and am worried that if I were to get in an accident it could possibly come loose and strike her. Perhaps it's a slim chance but still possible.

Does anyone have any ideas? Every portable DVD player I look at has flaky reviews and I can't find one of those "pouch style" headrest mounts (looks like a headrest cover) that will fit a tablet style portable DVD player. Help!
Thanks!

hello, did you look into consumer report. good luck

  • Buy Cheap Car DVD Players

  • philips pet7432/05 7 inch twin screen portable dvd player with car ...

I chose this product primarily because of the smart car mount but also because of the minimal number of wires / leads and its smart black looks. Generally I avoid Philips products because they feel cheap and plasticky - but this was a definate step up. I have had a Goodmans in car DVD before but I hated the ‘bag over the head-rest’ design and the plethora of leads. The Philips is clearly superior and is neater when on. The car mount was hard to fix to the head-restraint pillars (Audi Q5) and I am not sure that I have fixed it properly even now (I am actually a very practical / perfectionist person and so this bothers me). The vibration transmitted to the screens is huge - largely because the screen fixing makes it impossible for the screen to touch the head restraint or seat back for additional stability. Sound through my seperately purchased Sony earpieces is excellent (unlike the Goodmans unit) and picture quality is superb.
