rca portable dvd player

I recently purchased a car power adaptor for my RCA portable DVD player, but the adaptor requires knowledge of the device's polarity. The manual suggested checking the base plate of the player, but nothing there suggests positive or negative. And checking both the player's manual and the RCA website gave me no answers. Can anyone help me?

Remove the batteries from your player. Using an ohm meter, check the resistance between the negative battery terminal and then either the inside pin or outside of the AC adapter input connector. Look for a resistance very close to 0. That should identify the negative side.

What do I need to play my 360 on here? Do I use the composite cords or the plain ones?

i assume you plug the yellow cable into the yellow port and the red and white ones into a stereo Y adapter from what i can see here

I have a SONY portable DVD player but it has one video input and one audio .... not the usual RCA 2 cables for audio ... this should not be this complicated ... any ideas?
