can i get power from a car battery to power a lamp, or a small dvd player?

trying to rig up some sort of power supply to turn on a light or small portable dvd player with a battery and some electronic suff from the electronic store. my lights are off !

yes its called a inverter it will transform a car battery to high voltage the come with adapters to plug into cig lighter or clamps, also they have the power point so you just plug your dvd straight in i use a 300 watt an it gives me enough power to run a tv an a dvd player plus a low voltage light hook your battery to a solar panel wammo free power.

Trying to make a small dvd player work with the tv in my RV. Audiovox TV does not have a video setting.?

The dvd player is connected with an RCA to coax adapter. We hooked it up but cannot make the DVD player work with the TV. I think it's because there is no video setting on the TV remote. My brother says we need a BF box or something like that. He could not remember what it is called. The back of the tv has no spot for plugs, just coaxial cables. The DVD player is a small Coby with a remote.

You need an RF Modulator. You can get them from Radio Shack or other electronics supply store. You plug the video from your DVD player into the modulator, and it gives you a signal on either TV channel 3 or 4 (you can select) on a coax output. You connect the modulator to the TV antenna inputs and tune the TV to the channel you selected. If your TV does not have a coax input (only twin-lead screw heads), you can get a transformer (called a "balun") to convert the coax to twin-lead.

is there a small dvd player or lcd screen with a usb input available cheap?

I want to build a portable "bore scope" with video display

Nope. You'll need an actual computer. A plain DVD player or bare LCD screen do not have their own video processing capabilities except for the dedicated mpg decoder in the DVD player, but that's not going to do anything for you. They're just displays.

what do you call the name of the dvd player that looks like a small laptop?

A portable DVD player. It has a screen like a laptop or television, yes.

If you have a small portable DVD player, can you hook up a gaming system to it?

I know you would need some type of adapter for that, but if possible what kind of an adapter could you use?

If that portable DVD player has a video input jack or connectors - then YES.

  • Buy Cheap Car DVD Players

  • Wall Mounted DVD Player

OK, so we have wall mounted TVs… but we still have to have  a shelf or table in from to f the TV for all the crap we need to make a TV run.

    Shelf:

CONS:  unsightly piles of equipment, wires hanging behind, easy to damage

PROS: Easy to install (mostly), easy to access equipment.

Shelves just don’t do it for me.  I have a lot of DVDs, DVD players, X-boxes, DVRs, etc.  That equates to a lot of wires and piles of remotes and other equipment.

    Entertainment Center

CONS: Very large, wasted space in front of or behind ultra thin TV, difficult to rearrange or rewire equipment, exceedingly difficult to move, expensive

PROS: Generally looks nice, hides unsightly wires, DVD cases, etc.
