Some portable DVD players have iPod docks in them. If you don't have a\v inputs on the DVD palyer you are out of luck.

I have the Panasonic LS50. The battery lasts 10 hours, it's a nice small unit. There's a few ounces of additional weight because of the battery, but it works really well. Plays CDs, too. The LS55 is good, too.

I've flown to Europe from California, watching movies all the way. Just be sure to bring a voltage converter along with your charger.
