All of this for $99.95 plus shipping and handling.
Is this a good deal?
I wouldn't know because I rarely ever go shopping and I know very little about electronics so if you could let me know if this is a deal or not I would surely appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
It says this normally goes for $409.95 but is giving me a $310.00 discount
Can you get a similar deal elsewhere, maybe not as good but close?
How much is shipping and handling? If that's another $99.95...
What kind of warranty do they offer upfront?
Is the unit actually new or refurbished?
What is their Return Policy if the item doesn't work as promised?
Can you pay by credit card (which gives you certain legal recourse in the event of dispute)?
Walmart's got all kinds of portable DVD players ranging from $70 - $159. So someone claiming that their unit is worth $410, but they'll sell it to you for $100, sounds a little over-inflated to begin with. And shipping and handling wipes out any REAL savings you might have gotten.
Short answer is No, it doesn't sound like all that good a deal.
Price: $349.99

In my opinion, I think the technology has been pushed. There are new products coming out every month on the market which are completely pointless. We just don't need them. It's making the society look bad in a lot of ways., even though for their case it looks advanced but it just looks worse. High Definition Technology is messing with our brains and changing the way we work.
Like now there is mini tvs that look like a picture frame(!), g-phones, dvd players you can out in your cars (just watch a dvd at home),Max electric heaters, cable television, Nintendo Wii, inspiro oven, phone keypad, techno mixed sounds database, widescreen cinema television, route tomtoms in cars etc. too many to name but all these in one decade! It's crazy.
I do approve of other great techology like mp3s, DVDS, CDS, computers, cellphones, gameboy advances and playstation and I think that amount is enough.
In the 50's things were much less complicated because we just had a tv with two channels, a gas cooker, film projectors and record players.
I'm not trying to rant but this is my stated opinion and it's also on the news and google that historical moments are being ruined by all this modern technology and it's getting worrying because we are less reliable on ourselves and are becoming lazy and obese and suffering from heart problems - due to fast food.
All these new contraptions have got our brains worked up because there's so much to choose from and is more stressing when it's in use.
Don't get me wrong at all, as I said before, some of the advances I'm grateful for, I think computers and cellphones are brilliant but they actually have a purpose when being used.
I'm sounding like an old person but this is just my concern and it's so easy to compare if you were around long before new tech.
Do you share the same opinion or do you have a different viewpoint?
I'm afraid we've traded quality for quantity in so many aspects of our lives.''
We want whatever we want and we want it now. Or rather, yesterday.
We're not happy with picking up some milk anymore. We want 1%, 2%, Skim, Fat free, Lactose free, and we want them available in 1/2 pint, 1 pint, 1 quart, 2 qts, gallons and we want them in both cardboard and plastic, and at least 4 dairies to choose from, then we want all that in our chocolate milk, mocha milk, strawberry milk, coffee flavored milk, and we want all of those in non-fat, sugar-free, 2% and skim. Separately we buy the cream; whipping, coffee-cream, half and half, and we want non-flavored, vanilla flavored, coffee-chocolate flavored, hazelnut, strawberry, and creme de mente flavored; and that only begins to cover the milk and not milk products. Cheeses, God let's don't even go there.
Same thing with a loaf of bread, a box of cereal, or a bottle of aspirin. Shelves and shelves and shelves. It makes me nervous.
The computer, too much information, too many choices. Technology - I needed an alarm clock. Just a plain old alarm clock, so I went to see at K-Mart (hate donating to Wal-Mart). I left after 2 hours and didn't have a clock. Too many choices, too much information, sales-kids that talk a mile a minute and don't get that I don't get it.
But you know what, it's our generation that created these things for them. Our generation put a man on the moon and satellites around the globe and missions to Mars, and computers, and then high speed internet into nearly every home...we put two vehicles on planets with cameras that tell us everything. In fact one of them is stuck and spinning it's wheels on Mars - and it's been up there for years and in a couple weeks NASA is going to instruct it to back out! Meanwhile it kicked out rocks, and they're all thrilled by the notion that there are rocks there under the layers of dirt and dust.
And we wonder that the young want toys? The artic snowmobiles, supersonic jets, jetski's, and 4-wheelers were the catalysts for the space probes. We had plenty of outside toys, today the young people like them to fit in their hands and pockets. It's good they're young.
