That would depend on the Maximum RMS Wattage rating for the speakers.
Diameter of speakers has no bearing on the watt ratings. On the back of the magnets there should e a wattage rating printed.
Check for that, then get an amp that delivers 10 to 20 percent less.

I'm planning on getting a Schecter Studio 5. Now, I want a decent amp, but I really like a crisp sound and wanted an Ampeg 2x10. I think it would sound cleaner than a 15 inch. I'm just concerned the smaller speakers might not be able to handle a low B with such powerful electronics behind it. So yeah if you have any experience, please let me know. Thanks.
You're right - a 10" speaker isn't going to help you very much in terms of low end. 10" speakers give you a punchy mid-range and clear highs, but they don't project bass frequencies very well. If you still wanted your sound more "crisp", you could try a 4x10" cabinet - it wouldn't be as portable as a 2x10", but you'd have a slightly better low end simply because more speakers = more air movement.
Yes, a 15" speaker would give you the defined low end you're looking for, but at the expense of a lot of high end.
The best thing I can suggest to you is get two cabinets. Most amplifiers only run at their full power at 4 ohms (and most cabinets run at 8 ohms), so you could do this - hook your amplifier up to a 2x10" (or 4x10") cab and a 1x15" cab - that way, you'd probably be getting more juice out of your amp, and your tone would be much more well-rounded.
You can also get 1x18" cabinets, which would have an even better low end than a 1x15" (though proportionally less mid-high range). However, these can be hard to find and pretty expensive. 4x10" cabs can also be a bit more expensive than 2x10"s or 1x15"s.
A good alternative to getting a 2x10" + 1x15" would be to get a 2x12" cabinet. 12" speakers are sort of in between 10" and 15" speakers, both in size and tone. If you don't really want to buy two separate cabinets, I would recommend this.
Hope that helps a bit, and that you find what you need =)
Cheers

i got to new speakers and the place were i took them totaly sucked and didnt even install them right but i got 3 years of worrenty so i need to blow them to get the job done right so does anyone know how can i blow them and make it look like it was there bad installment.(is there certain song that will blow them out because of the low bass or something)
I agree with the other post. if you blow them they will replace the subwoofers but probably will not re do the install.
if you are set on trying to blow them ( I do not recommend doing this ) find a test tone that is around 20 hertz and play it at full power for a hour or so.

by stuffing them with what pillows are made with (cotton) the bass will sound harder?
stuffing the speaker box
he is correct, as long as its a sealed box. i use polyfill, 1lb per cubic foot. sounds great.
Im a bassist who is interested in a sound similar to Mark Hoppus from Blink-182 and Mike Dirnt from Green Day. Would you suggest a 250 wat amp with 4x 10 inch speakers or a 250 wat 1x 15 inch speaker with a horn? Ive played both, but I cant make this decision...
4 x 10.
I have played bass for 17 years.
Nothing sounds like a crisp 4 x 10 Hartke cabinet with aluminum cones. (They last a lot longer.)
I also play through a Hartke 350 watt amp. (they say it is better to match your head to your cabinet.)
The 4 x 10's cut through a mix far better than a 1 x 15.
PS- I have played through a 1 x 15 prior to getting the 4 x 10.
With the 1 x 15 no one even knew I was playing. (Not loud enough and sharp enough to cut through the mix.)
It is also recommended that your amp be 2x the watts of your guitar player to cut through and be heard.
