cost is an issue, but quality is too

car system 12 inch memphis speakers?

right now in my car i have 2 12 inch memphis speakers which are connected to a 1200 watt xploid amplifier and i have two tweeters connected to the stereo which is like 200 watts but the speakers bass overpowers the actual music and most of the sound is in the trunk what do you recomend i buy so that it sounds better im thinking about getting some speakers for only music and putting them in the front of the car so that the sound evens out

to make your system a little more even add alpine type x coaxial to doors and rear dash.i would also up grade my amplifier from a Sony to almost any other brand. best bet hifonics. also a new head unit from alpine will help tremendously.

HI DOES A 1200W PEAK,600W RMS 18 INCH HOME SPEAKER HAVE MORE BASS THAN A DUAL 12 OR 15" TOWER?

im looking to buy a pair of house speakers that are 1200 watts peak each 18 inch subs 3 way cabinets...would these be louder bass wise than a pair of dual 12 or 15 inch tower speakers rated at same wattage...another words..which one will deliver more bass? four 15's or two 18's also would a 1500 watt max,750 watt rms be a good receiver/amp to push the 18's rated at 1200 watt,600 watt rms? thankyou

In theory the larger surface area combo will 'give more bass', BUT there are many considerations.

First, big spekaers are good for low bass frequencies, but not so good for higher bass, so big is not necessarily best. Audiophiles will often opt for a 10" or 12" sub over a 15" because of 'better' sound for that reason.

Second, the excursion on the speaker cone (how far in and out it can move) along with the cone and surround materials can make a huge difference.

Third, the watt rating of speakers is their capacity not their requirement. That is determined by the speaker efficiency .. and varies widely.

Fourth, the type and size of bass speakers should take into account the type of use. For example you want big subs for organ music, but may be better with smaller versions for more delicate music (e.g. vocal, jazz, piano).

Fifth, your question is somewhat confusing since you talk about subs with 3 way cabinets and tower speakers. Which are you considering subwoofers or full range tower speakers? They aren't the same.

Sixth, bass is problematic in rooms so plan on more than one subwoofer and/or buying/building bass traps to eliminate resonances and inequalities.

Finally, you presumably want a balanced sound, so unless you have a huge room and/or want low bass from organ music at realistic levels I doubt you need 18" or even 15" woofers.

My suggestion is to look at an integrated speaker setup based on room size, music/movie style and stop focusing on the bass alone.

My car stereo wont control my subwoofer bass volume separate from the other car speakers. how can i fix this?

The stereo is a JVC KD-G340. I have a 600 watt amp and 2 12 inch subs. The subs work but the bass on the speakers and subwoofers is the same. When i try to control the subwoofer volume it doesnt change anything. i want more bass to come out of the subwoofers than the other speakers.

On the deck if u have a half decent one, if u scroll through the options or menu u can come across something that may say Subwoofer. Turn that option on. Now if you going into the audio tuning menu the one with the Treble Mid, and Bass it should have another option called Subwoofer. Now you should have gotton a Blue reference wire that travels from you deck to your amp inorder to control the subs with this subwoofer option/

I am wondering if i can play a bass guitar trough an electric guitar amp?

I own a 75 watt fender frontman 25R amp with a 12 inch speaker i can only afford the bass guitar at this time. I am wondering if playing bass through it will run the risk of damaging my amp. I am not looking for great sound quality at this time

Yes, it's possible, but do so only at low volumes.

It could hurt the speakers if the volume is too high. Bass puts out a different frequency than electric guitars, so be aware that the tone is also not going to be that great.

One tip is to buy a DI or some sort of preamp that has a headphone jack.
