Can a sony xplod 1000 watt amp push a dual 12 inch and a 12 inch cvx kicker without harming the dual ?

i have 2 12 inch speakers one a dual and one a cvx kicker can a sony 1000 watt amp push them both without harming the dual i dont want it to pop ?? help....

yes you can, but your amp probably doesn't really put out 1000 watts. I'm willing to bet that you are talking about the max rating/ what you need to do is look at the RMS rating. that is how much power your amp can provide. If the RMS rating of the amp isn't too much higher than the RMS rating of your subwoofers, then it will work fine.

i need measurements for a speaker box for a 12 inch kicker comp?

i want to make a vented speaker box for a 12 inch kicker comp how big should the box be and how wide and long should the tube be? if you could give me the height and width of the box in inches i would appreciate it.

You can use the specifcations listed by Kicker in your manual. They give you both the minimum and maximum enclosure dimensions. The minimum enclosure is good if you are tight on space. The maximum one is designed for the best SPL. Either one of those designs will work well for your sub.

Kicker gives the volume needed and the port dimensions. It has a slot port design instead of a round port.

The enclosure dimensions are on page 3.

I just got a 12 inch CRV Kicker subwoofer in my car. Now I want to upgrade my speakers. Any suggestions?

6 1/2 front speakers
6x9 rear deck

I would suggest using Memphis car audio S or the M class speakers or the Clarion brand. It depends on how much you want to spend and how much power you have to work with to push the speakers. Check out EBay you may find out some good prices or www.wooferetc.com

Component speakers sound really good it you want to spend the money it comes with its own x-over, mid and tweeter, but they can run pricey that would be good to use in the front its price around 175 to 220 for a set.

For the back I like to use two 4” speakers instead of a 6x9. 2-4” for each side I like the sound with the 4” and when you have subwoofers in the back, you want to make sure you can hear the high end and not to have the subwoofer overpower the highs.

In order to use 4” in the back use 1/8” plywood cut it to the size of the 6x9 than cut the two holes for the 4” it’s really simple and I think you would enjoy the sound.

And always use caps on the high end so you don’t blow up the speakers. Just ask your local stereo shop for some they will tell you what size you need and run the cap in series with the positive side.

Just my suggestion nope that helps!

Does the 12 inch L5 Kicker need tweeters?

I have a 12" L5 Kicker sub woofer with a kx600.1 Kicker amp waiting to be installed in my car. I'm putting it in a vented box. Does the subwoofer need tweeters? Or should I just buy an amp for my Sony Xplod door speakers that I think has tweeters already installed inside of the speakers? And if I need tweeters, which Kicker tweeters should I get?

The only speakers that need tweeters are meant for sound and not bass. Usually smaller than 5.25" speakers have no tweeter unless they cost more with a built in tweeter. It's the little ball or object in the middle of the speaker. No subwoofer will ever need a tweeter, because they are meant strictly for bass. Sub level speakers that range from 8-22" won't need tweeters because they process sub level sound, or bass if you will. No reason for crisper sound, the amp does the job from there.

12 inch Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D4 vs a 15 inch Kicker L5?

I'm going to upgrade my system soon and i've narrowed it down to two subs i'm looking at. I want to know between a 12 inch Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D4 and a 15 inch kicker L5, which would sound better and get louder. The pioneer handles a 1000 watts rms, while the kicker handles 750 watts rms. But the kicker has more cone area. Anybody have any opinions? Also if you know of any better speakers in $150 to $180 price range let me know. Also the amps is a Hifonics BXi1206.

Actually the Kicker's would do you better but I am a strong enforcer of the Alpine Type-R 1500w RMS subwoofer. They come in 10",12" and 15". http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuse action=page.display&page_ID=14&c ategory_ID=23&mfg_account_ID=1&s ort=low

Check all the Type-R's out. Very good clean bass and cheap. Don't be fooled by the price they all well worth more than they are priced for!
