Car Speakers Answers

whats the different s between a 15 inch 600 watt car speaker and a 600 watt pa speaker and a 600watt guitar a?

i need a replacement for my 15 inch 600 watt pa speakers will a 15inch 600watt car speaker be the same and what about a 15 inch 600watt guitar amp speaker will that work also?

600 watt is 600 watt BUT
pa speakers = 8 Ohm to 36 Ohm
car speaker = 1 Ohm to 10 Ohm
guitar amp speaker = 8 Ohm to 16 Ohm

you need to pull the speaker out and see what it says on the back
and go with that or better to get your speaker rebuilt

what website can i find the right design & measurement for my 15 inch car speaker subwoofer box? Thanks.?

the manufacturer of the sub. you could email them, or call them or check their website

the box will probably be 2.5-3.5 cubic feet. but that depends on if your making a sealed or ported box. smaller box for sealed and bigger for ported.

i have a 15 inch speaker and i want to use it in my car what do i need to do?

all i have is this speaker and a box for it no amp and stuff i really dont know where to start.

First off, you need to find out how much cubic air space you need. Once you find that out, you need to either buy or build a box that matches the required air space you need. If you're going to build your own box, take the length x width x depth in inches then divide it by 1728. This will give you your cubic air space. Then you need to find out the RMS power rating of your sub. Then go find an amp with a RMS power rating that is equal or a little higher than the power rating of your sub (subs are damaged more frequently by under powering it) Then pick up an install kit (around $50 at your local car audio shop or $30 at Wal Mart. Don't get suckered into buying name brand wiring like Stinger or other crap like that. You're paying for a name, just like Monster Cable.), run a power wire directly from your battery to your amp (be sure there is a fuse somewhere in the power wire, this will prevent your amp from frying in case of a power surge), find an area in your trunk, or wherever you plan on putting the amp, where you have a clean metal area to provide your amp with a ground. Usually, you don't want your ground wire to be more than a foot long. Then run your rca and remote turn on wires from your head unit back to your amp. Hook up everything (it's pretty self explanatory) and you'll be good to go. If you've never done it before, you'll be better off going to a non big box store and paying $100-200 and have it done. Also, remember that a 15" is a big driver, so you might also want to consider upgrading your interior speakers. Ideally, you want 1 watt of mid-high level sound for every 2 watts of bass. In my PT Cruiser, I have 2 12" JL W1-V2 subs powered by a Rockford Fosgate P500-1 (factory benched at 693 watts RMS @ 4ohms mono) and 2 Alpine type s 6.5" components powered by a R.F. P200-1 (factory benched at 77 watts @ 4 ohms per channel). Right now I'm running a 5-1 sub to high watt ratio, but the components are so good I don't need any more power. Also, after reading another person's response, you really only need a capacitor if you're going to be running more than 1000 total watts or if you notice that your lights dim when a deep bass note hits. If you do decide to get one, you only need .1 farad of capacitance per 100 watts of power. If your lights do flicker, get one. It will save you the time and money of having to replace your alternator.

the perfect set of speakers for my car?

Yea i got 2 15 inch cvx subwoofers i just need a pair of speakers inside my car now... so wats the perfect set that are loud and clear with no distortion even at high volumes... if this helps i need 6.5 or 6-3/4 for my front doors and i need 6x9's for my back thanks.

Depends - to help future answerer's, are you planning on amplifying your new speakers?

I was thinking about getting a system for my car, any suggestions?

What i really wanted was 2 12 inch speakers and a 15 inch speaker, and a 2000 watt. amp.

I cannot think of many cars that would have room for 2 12's along with a 15, without a whole lot of customization. So you should go to your local audio store and talk to the people there and figure out what you want from your system. If you want a really good heavy baseline, but something that will be able to keep up with fast beats, go with 10" or 12" subs. If you want something that will just be lower and louder than anything else, definitely go with the 15" but you might sacrifice a little bit on the fast paced beats.
As far as name brands go, I would definitely recommend JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate and Kicker.
If you want high quality vocals as well, you might want to upgrade your stock speakers. I would recommend a component speaker setup which will cover your low mid and high frequencies. www.crutchfeild.com offers a lot of good stuff, and can also tell you exactly what will fit in your car and what wont.
Good luck!

Do not expect many of these other than to fill two open holes in the dash of my old stock speakers bad, I removed. Wow I was wrong, these speakers are very cheap little dynamo, and, believe it or not, these are small sores inside the base. Best prices, cheap small speakers I have ever bought. car audio brand since found out that this has made a name for himself exclusively to the manufacture of brute, monster bass quality for the masses.

Kicker subwoofer technology is definitely with the designedAutosound serious competitors in the eye and its subwoofer going to venture where few others.
