How can i plug a 25 foot speaker cable (16 gauge) 1/4 inch, into my amp. I have a sony amplifier. Please help! This plug looks like it would go right into an instrument but will not go into the amp. Is there an adapter perhaps?
I was told that since the amplifier will not take this plug, i have to slice the cable, if so how would this go into the amplifier?
The speakers i have btw, are yamaha cabs.
Thanks! any input will be greatly appreciated it.
You have to be more specific about what the inputs on your Sony head unit look like. If you have a red and black squares with round holes in the center, then yes, you need cut the wire. Then you split the two pieces of copper (one is negative, one positive) and then strip away the rubber coating. Standard electric wire cutters should have 16 gauge and be able to do this without harming the integrity of the copper. You then just insert the copper into each hole and whammo... you're up and rockin'.

I haven't been able to google it at all. I keep find pages with people talking about the spec sheets, but they never post the actual spec sheets! Anyway, if you can find me the frequency range of the speaker it's Ten points! Thanks!
That's a model number out of the past.
The D130F was the guitar cabinet version of the D130 PA speaker. The story was that the F stood for Fender because they were used in the Fender Showman cabinets. The main difference was a slightly wider magnet gap and slightly lower efficiency. Frequency responce was roughly 60 to 6000 cycles (Hz) and power handling was 75 watts RMS. In PA use we would cross them over at about 1200 - 2 octaves below their top end.
The D series was eventually replaced in JBL's lineup by the higher power handling K series. The K130 frequency response is stated as 50-6000 Hz, If you compare the Thiele Parameters you'll see that the D130 and K130 are virtually identical except for power disipation (Pe).

I was about to buy the Infinity kappa 3way speakers but found out that if installed there would be problems with either the door or window not closing/opening completely. The depth of these speakers are 3 3/16 and the depth on the front doors are 1.67 inches. The only speakers I've found that would fit are the Critical Mass RS69.

I think Im expose to alot of magnets because I have 8 big speakers in my room, size 12 - 16 inch speakers, i dnt listen to loud music, i just enjoy surround sound. the power of the magnets even causes the tv set colors to change which i cannot fix any because magnets spoil the the natural tv color. Does that mean Im expose to some type of radiation? Magnet radiation?
You are constantly exposed to a magnetic field (that of the Earth). The increased field strength you are likely to experience from your speakers is minimal, and strong fields are not a problem either for that matter. MRI machines routinely expose people to very strong magnetic fields with no ill effects.
I built two speaker stands. They are approx. 36 inches high and 7 inches wide. The speaker is small, probably 16 inches, and it sits on the top of stand. On the bottom part of these is empty space...aprox 20 inches. The stands are painted chocolate brown. We thought about a vase, or something like that...but it just does not look right. What could we put there that would work best for these things? Help!
Plant will be perfect

Green Advantages for Advanced Framing Techniques | Charles ...
From the L.A. Times, two builders share their opinions on advanced framing techniques.
At debate here is whether advanced framing techniques (2x6's 24-inch on center) are justified in their building a more sustainable structure as opposed to using standard framing techniques (2x4's 16-inch on center).
Alan Toker of Megabuilders lays out a very convincing argument that these OVE (Optimum Value Engineering) framing techniques are actually detrimental to the environment and are not practical.
On balance, I'll have to say that building with 2x6 studs 24 inches apart is WORSE for the environment, and it is barely practical.
First, it should be noted that most framed elements in a building cannot be framed 24 inches on center (24 inches apart). For the roof, floors and shear walls (i.e. anywhere where plywood is nailed to the framing members) spacing of 16-inch on center is required.
