Lexan, and it is going to cost you. Plexiglass will work also but lexan is not as brittle (one would say bullet proof). Then you must match the factor windows and their curve also. Shops that build race cars can help, and if you go to an installer they will just send it somewhere also, and then charge you. Google auto glass companies or auto defense companies in you area and add Lexan to the search.

i recently blew a fuse in my amp just for my 2 12's in the trunk, but would the headunit recognize a sub is still plugged in just no fuse and not put bass to the speakers in the car? my pioneer 6x9 arent cranking anything but mids and highs, period same with my front 4 inch speakers, ive never noticed it till i listened to it now without my subs... could it be because my headunit amp is only lik 50w max so its prob 18 watt rms per channel, and the speakers are alot bigger than that, would that cause it not to utilize the subs on the 6x9? thanks!
yup to what part??
i checked all of the high and low pass filters and none are out of the ordinary, so i don tthink they are it, how can i tell if i have a bass blocker on my lines? what would they look at and where woudl they be, it is the stock wiring for an 86 pontiac grand am, thx
Your headunit will not be able to reconize if your sub isn't plugged in or not.
There could be a couple of reasons for the lack of bass you are experiencing. First you will have to check the filters on your head unit. You will have to make sure that you are sending lower frequencies to your speakers. You may have your high pass filter too high.
You could also just simply be used to your sub. Without the sub the music just sounds like it doesn't have any bass. I know that I am always surprised how much difference a sub makes in the overall sound of the system.
Also, those speakers are mid-range speakers. They are not meant to play low frequencies like a sub will.

im thinking about buying two FI BL subwoofers does anyone know if thesse are any good or can tell me something about them and should i get 15 inch or 18 inch ones
just google the brand and or model number and look for reviews. i do it all the time for anything i am going to purchase and it really does help. second, it is all about frequency (hz) and spl (sound pressure level). the 15's will be smoother and get up into the lower mids if you are going to eq. the 18's are going to give you more lower freq's but alot of them are inaudible. you will feel them though (spl). it depends on how much power you want to run, and the capability of your system. you can get a lot of punch with a 15 if you have the right crossover settings and some good clean power. 18's will really move some air and make the low end really thump. i know this doesen't really answer your question, but maybe it will help you make an informed decision.

I have a ten inch Jensen subwoofer in a box, some 18 gauge speaker wire, and a 1000 watt amp. I'm impatient and too poor to buy the rest of the stuff I need to hook up the whole kit and kaboodle so is there any way I can get a little sound running to this subwoofer without all that junk?

I originally purchased a 2005 chevy cobalt 2.2L and had done some work to it. I had Decals, exhaust, custom painted badges, brake calipers, and trim. I also had blue neon interior lighting along with cooper sport zeon tires and a K&N intake. I totaled the car on my way back from a basketball game going around a turn, launching of a driveway hitting the ditch and then two trees. I dislocated 3 of 4 tires include axles, lost the entire front end and both airbags went off riding solo. I just started car shopping again and the family dealership place and they got a 2006 chevy monte carlo LTZ in. The body looks a little funny but my mom insists its practical because it only has 47K its an 2006. It has heated seats.heated mirrors, spoiler, leather, and its automatic. I can talk the guy down to 10,000 but was wanted input from the wiser older generation and the young guns. I also had three 12 inch sub woofers along with four 4way speakers from my cobalt that would get tossed into it. the only things I would change would be the addition of black rims cause the car is dark grey and add window tint. You may think im the typical jerk kid with a ricer, but I just like upgrading in almost everything I do. I love building things and learning about how they work. I dont look to be a head turner but I am willing to see what I can do with my own two hands.
thanks
my advice to you young man is,,,,,, get some serious pro driving instruction,,,,,,,,listen to what they teach you, then spend the next 2 years proving you are a good driver without incident,,,,,,,,,, driving is a skill which improves with brain input,,,,,,,,so good luck
