Car Stereo: Pioneer MP3 player DEH-P6950IB
Power Amp: Pioneer GM-X944 2/4 Channel Amp
Subwoofer: Pioneer 12" TS-W307F 900 watts
Speakers: Pioneer 5-way 460 watts speakers x 2.
Tweeters: Pioneer S-20 tweeters x 2.
Probably THE BEST combination if u want your car to blast. Now I want my room to shudder... This is for experimentation purposes to work an entire car audio system in a home setup. Please help with the connections etc with detailed description of the same regarding wiring and appropriate power supply. Thanks...Will be highly appreciated...; )

If you have an extra computer power supply hanging around say about 500 watts or higher you could try that .

car speakers start to pop when sound is centered?

I have a 1996 honda civic and am currently experiencing a slight problem with my speakers. I have two 6.5 inch polk speakers in the front of my car and two 6 x 9 pioneer speakers in the back. The polk speakers have a 60 watt rms and 180 watt peak and the pioneers have a 40 watt rms and a 300 watt peak. They are currently being powered by my cd player which is a jvc kd-pdr80 which has 20 watt rms power for each speaker and 50 watt peak. my problem is that when i center the sound to be directly in the middle and turn up the bass the speakers start to pop, but if i fade the sound directly to the back with the same bass and volume the speakers dont pop and if i fade it to the front with the same stuff the speakers dont pop. It only pops when both front and back speakers are being used. Could this be caused by not having enough power?

You are overworking your poor radio.

Give the radio a break.

The radio can power 4 average sized speakers ok. But if you got larger power speakers, turn up the bass, power the 4 speakers and turn up the volume,... Well, the radio is getting Mad cause you makin it work too hard

(when you power just the 2 speakers, front or rear, it can power them easyer cause less speakers.)

What kind of suspensions would I need if I needed to make my car higher?

We have speakers in the trunk, and 20 inch rims, and the previous owners of the car, lowered the car when they put the rims on it, and now it's eating the hell out of our tires. We have a nissan altima, anyone know what type of springs or whatever we need to use to put on the car so that the alignment can be straight for the rear tires?

Ooohhh tough one. Probably, you'll have to find out what was done to lower the car and "undo" it. There are TONS of car guys out there that would be more capable of giving specifics on an Altima. If you have any friends with access to a car lift in a garage, maybe you can take a walk under it and see the mods that were done. Good luck.

car speaker question....?

have just bought some 4 inch speakers by accident, was meant to get 6inch. (dont know too much about sound systems) so my question is are these going to be louder and clearer sound than a 95 astra standard fit pair (6").
new speakers specs
One Pair 4'' Two-way Speaker Systems
Power Handling: 90 Watts Rms / 180 Watts Max
Non-fatiguing Butyl Rubber Surround
3/4'' High Temperature ASV Voice Coil
Standard 4'' Size Fits OEM Locations
Blue Poly Injection Cone
20 oz Magnet Structure
1/2'' Neodymium Film Dome Tweeter
Impedance: 4 Ohm
Sensitivity: 88 dB
Frequency Response: 110Hz - 20Khz
Mounting Depth: 1.95''

also what difference would having 6" over 4" be apart from there bigger

thanks

These sound 100% better than the standard Astra ones. The fact they are 90 Watts RMS means they should sound loud as hell. The chances are the stereo your running them on will not be pumping out 95 Watts RMS per channel.

As they are smaller, i think you can buy an adapter plate. Failing that, you can always make one out of MDF.

6" would have been better, however, these speakers sound really good so the average bloke would fail to tell the difference.

Car Audio Experts: What set up is the best for me?

I have a 1993 Hatchback Camaro with 6.5 inch speakers.

I have a $500 limit.
I already have a good deck, but nothing else.

I blew out all my speakers in my car, the ones I bought at Wal-mart for 20 bucks a pair. So anything will sound better quality wise than it does now.

Should I spend the majority of my money on speakers to enhance the car audio? or should I consider buying an amp, spending the majority of my money on that? I'm not sure what amps have with the effect of audio when it's played loud because i've never had one.

Also, I have 3 speakers (out of 5) that are wired. Two rear seat speakers haven't been wired yet. Is it worth paying the audio place to have those wired and buy a second pair of speakers? Or do you think just having two in the front will be loud enough, and the difference wont be noticeable?

Thanks for taking the time for reading this, i've thought about getting my car audio revamped for a long time. It really needs it.

Getting a 4-channel amp. is worth it, it makes the music much louder and it distorts at a much higher volume

Also get some decent speakers, such as RE, Pioneer, or Polk
They won't blow nearly as easliy and they'll give you a high quality sound

Pick up the amp and speakers on eBay, most of it is high quality stuff and they sell it for much less than retail value
