New Car Speakers Keep losing bass?

I have a mustang convertible GT with a MACH 460® stereo system. This system features front component speakers, rear 5.25 inch speakers, a 6 CD in dash changer, and a powered amp that feeds those speakers. The speakers were pretty good but I wanted to upgrade so i brought it to Best Buy and had them install Inifinity 62.9i and 682.9 CF Kappas (kept the front tweeter components stock). They sound good, but after beats of bass the bass cuts out from the front speakers. I'm getting a little pissed since i do enjoy listening to my music modestly loud. Did they not take something into consideration here? Are the aftermarket speakers not rated for the amount of RMS or Peak power the stock amp provides? Or does this have something to do with Ohm resistance?

The Mach Audio system is a royal pain in the ass to work with. If you want aftermarket equipment other than just subs, you need to gut the entire system and start from scratch.

If I remember correctly, the amplifiers are built to work on either an unusually high or low impedance that doesn't line up with anything made by today's aftermarket manufacturers.

Also, it doesn't make much sense to me as to why you would replace the midrange driver with a 2-way coaxial but leave the stock tweeter in place.

5.25 inch speaker recommendation?

I've got a 1994 LeBaron convertible, and a JVC KD-HDR1 head unit. Since the car is a convertible, I don't want to put a ton of sound equipment in it, it's far too easy to break into and steal the equipment.

I've got some Infinity Reference Series 3.5 inch speakers in the dash, and Kicker KD-S55 speakers in the rear. I'm looking for a recommendation for a good 5.25 speaker for the front. I don't intend to run an amp or subwoofer, but I want a speaker that reproduces sound accurately at moderate to reasonably high volumes when the top is down. Any suggestion?

same as you got up front, infinity references:) got references all around in my car(including subs) and it sounds amazing.

using a headphone jack, which I beleive is a 3.5mm jack. My main concern is how to wire batteries into the system. I am not sure where they connect into the circuit or if they are a seperatly wired entity. Any wiring diagrams of how to do sucha thing would be greatly appreciated.

Wanting to upgrade car speakers - suggestions please.?

Hello, I'm wanting to buy some speakers for my car to replace the original, old speakers. I've got a few questions. First off, do these speakers:

http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-Reference -5022i-5-25-Inch-Loudspeaker/dp/B000MPDS BQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics& amp;qid=1247130670&sr=1-1

...come in a pair? Or no? On this website:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1085022I/In finity-Reference-5022i.html?tp=97

...the info says that it's a pair, but I can't find that information on Amazon. So I'm trying to figure out if it's the same thing or not.

Also, I would like to buy a subwoofer as well. Would the following components be sufficient and work together completely with everything else?

Amp:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det ail/-/B001P85IV2/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encod ing=UTF8&m=A2TGMCZ4O2P52Z&v=glan ce
Sub:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det ail/-/B000O55JZ2/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encod ing=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glanc e

I don't need a pounding system, but I just want a very decent upgrade from paper cone speakers. I would plan to connect the two 5.25" speakers to the amp and then "bridge" the sub to the amp (that is possible, right?). So what do you think? Thank you in advance.

ok here is what I tell people who are looking for a quality upgrade , you get what you pay for. with that said I does not mean you need to go nut's and get 2000watt amp's and high end equipment but quality brands are a must , so when going with new speakers and a head unit i would have to say alpine has you covered , get alpine door and rear dash speakers with a nice head unit , even there type R's sound and perform great , as far as saving money and having crisp clean bass but not an over kill get 2 JL Audio 12w1v2 there really nice sub's and only require 500watts rms . no need to upgrade any electrical as long as your under 1000watts rms ,
here is the best site for the equipment .
the door and dash speakers .http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuse action=product.brands&category_id=9& amp;brand_ID=1

the subwoofers http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuse action=product.brands&category_id=23 &brand_ID=6

and the amp http://www.woofersetc.com/p4207/TXi-6006 --Hifonics-2-Ch-600-Watt-Titan-Amplifier .htm

good luck

Professionally installing speakers how much how long would it take? Should I bring to a professional?

I just bought a head unit for my 1996 New Yorker and am waiting to buy a wiring harness for it, and now am looking at buying speakers for the car also, how much would 2 5.25 inch full range speaker in the front and 2 6x9 4 way speakers in the back cost to install if I brought it to a professional? Would autozone or a place like that install it? I don't have very many if any places that are car specialty store (yea I live in BFE)
Would I have to buy anything special like wires or anything for it? I never really tried this before so it's all really new to me. Thanks

Basically if you aren't running an amp to your speakers, there is no need to have a professional do it. One recommendation that not everyone realizes is that just because speakers are aftermarket, that does NOT mean they are better then stock. Your current speakers are worth about a dollar, but they are tuned by a professional engineer to get the best sound possible from poor equipement. Also, aftermarket speakers give a much clearer, louder sound but they are also made to not handle as much bass (will cause them to pop, damage the tinsel, etc) so make sure you don't have the bass up. Make sure you get a nice set of speakers, however there is no need to ever spend over 130$ or under 100$. I recommend Boston Accoustics, Image Dynamics, or Pioneer (ONLY the Rev series pioneers) wich can all be purchased at woofersetc.com .(not trying to advertise, just a satisfied customer)

Now to the installation, your car currently has a + and - wire (black is -, red(sometimeswhite)) wire is your +. The wire is already ran throughout your car to your stock cd player. With that wire harness, it allows that pre-done wiring to go right into your new CD Player! Your new speakers will have about 6' of wire with terminals that fit into your new speakers (so you don't have to worry about fitment.)All you do is simply cut the terminal off the old wiring (that's ran through your car) and use a butt connector to connect the new wiring (if you don't know what a butt connector is, google it and the second u see it you'll know why you need one). Now just put the new speakers in, screw em in and bam you're fine. Now, remember that some cars the WHOLE door panel has to come off to get to the 5.25's, so be very careful when taking them off/putting them on. Also, sometimes you need to bend the metal where the 6x9s are because the depth or magnet is to big. However, just bend it with a hammer, and it's pretty much impossible to not fit.

A car installation shop would probably want about 50$ per 2 speakers, and $50.00 for the CD player. I garuntee it won't even take them ONE hour to do it. Don't let them hustle you.

ps. don't even replace the dash speakers. Hopefully they're tweeters, wich means leave them alone. IF they are speakers, then leave them alone as they will just get drowned out by 5.25's anyways so don't even replace them.
