NEW PRECISION AUDIO 4 INCH 2 WAY 300 WATT cAR SPEAKERS ?

are they any good? can they handle being blasted?

Depends on what your idea of blasted means. They are good but they are only a 4 inch speaker remember. As long as you take some of the bass out of them they will get loud. I hope this helps you and good luck.

is 2 six and a half inch speakers in front and 2-6x9 speakers in back a good setup?

or is it better to have 4- six and a half inch speakers all the way around?

Its a good setup. Just get 3 way 6.5s and 6x9s that way you dont have to get tweeters.

Professionally installing speakers how much how long would it take? Should I bring to a professional?

I just bought a head unit for my 1996 New Yorker and am waiting to buy a wiring harness for it, and now am looking at buying speakers for the car also, how much would 2 5.25 inch full range speaker in the front and 2 6x9 4 way speakers in the back cost to install if I brought it to a professional? Would autozone or a place like that install it? I don't have very many if any places that are car specialty store (yea I live in BFE)
Would I have to buy anything special like wires or anything for it? I never really tried this before so it's all really new to me. Thanks

Basically if you aren't running an amp to your speakers, there is no need to have a professional do it. One recommendation that not everyone realizes is that just because speakers are aftermarket, that does NOT mean they are better then stock. Your current speakers are worth about a dollar, but they are tuned by a professional engineer to get the best sound possible from poor equipement. Also, aftermarket speakers give a much clearer, louder sound but they are also made to not handle as much bass (will cause them to pop, damage the tinsel, etc) so make sure you don't have the bass up. Make sure you get a nice set of speakers, however there is no need to ever spend over 130$ or under 100$. I recommend Boston Accoustics, Image Dynamics, or Pioneer (ONLY the Rev series pioneers) wich can all be purchased at woofersetc.com .(not trying to advertise, just a satisfied customer)

Now to the installation, your car currently has a + and - wire (black is -, red(sometimeswhite)) wire is your +. The wire is already ran throughout your car to your stock cd player. With that wire harness, it allows that pre-done wiring to go right into your new CD Player! Your new speakers will have about 6' of wire with terminals that fit into your new speakers (so you don't have to worry about fitment.)All you do is simply cut the terminal off the old wiring (that's ran through your car) and use a butt connector to connect the new wiring (if you don't know what a butt connector is, google it and the second u see it you'll know why you need one). Now just put the new speakers in, screw em in and bam you're fine. Now, remember that some cars the WHOLE door panel has to come off to get to the 5.25's, so be very careful when taking them off/putting them on. Also, sometimes you need to bend the metal where the 6x9s are because the depth or magnet is to big. However, just bend it with a hammer, and it's pretty much impossible to not fit.

A car installation shop would probably want about 50$ per 2 speakers, and $50.00 for the CD player. I garuntee it won't even take them ONE hour to do it. Don't let them hustle you.

ps. don't even replace the dash speakers. Hopefully they're tweeters, wich means leave them alone. IF they are speakers, then leave them alone as they will just get drowned out by 5.25's anyways so don't even replace them.

4 speakers into a 2 channel amp, help me out on this one?

how would i hook up my speakers to my amp? i have a pair of a alpine sps-600c for the front doors:

Top Mount Depth: 2-1/4 Inches
Sensitivity: 88 dB
RMS Power Range : 80 Watts
Peak Power Handling: 240 Watts
Impedance: 4 Ohm
Frequency response: 70-22000 Hz
Design: 2 Way
Woofer Composition: Poly-Mica Cone
Tweeter Composition: Silk
Diameter: 6.5 Inch

a pair of alpine sps-600 for the back doors:

Top Mount Depth: 2-1/4 Inches
Sensitivity: 88 dB
RMS Power Range : 80 Watts
Peak Power Handling: 240 Watts
Impedance: 4 Ohm
Frequency response: 70-22000 Hz
Design: 2 Way
Woofer Composition: Poly-Mica Cone
Tweeter Composition: Silk
Diameter: 6.5 Inch

and the 2 channel amps is an MTX 6500D:

RMS Power measured at 12.5 Volts DC:
250 Watts x 1 into a 4 Ohm load with less than 1% Thd+N
500 Watts x 1 into a 2 Ohm load with less than 1% Thd+N
Dynamic Power measured at 14.4 Volts DC
450 Watts x 1 into a 4 Ohm load
775 Watts x 1 into a 2 Ohm load
Signal to Noise Ratio: ≥100dB A-Weighted
Damping Factor: >200
Frequency Response: 20Hz-200Hz
Maximum Input: 8Vrms
Thunder EQ: Variable Bass Boost (0-18dB) centered at 40Hz
Crossover: Variable 40Hz to 200Hz, 24dB/octave low pass
Dimensions: 11.5" x 9.75" x 2" (29.2cm x 24.8cm x 5.1cm)
13.9" x 9.75" x 2.1" (36.6cm x 24.8cm x 5.3cm) Including IsoFeet™

You don't want to run full range speakers off this amp. It appears to be a class D, so it won't actually produce any frequencies above 200Hz, so all you will get is bass. No vocals, no sounds, just bass. To run full range speakers (the ones in your doors), you need a class A/B 2 or 4 channel amp. These amps are capable of produce upwards of 22,000Hz, which is what you want for listening to music.

These speakers were an easy upgrade, and a huge improvement to the stock speakers that had paper cones that had rotten away. To install in the front (in the stock speaker box) you need to break off two of the mounting brakets. The holes don’t line up perfectly – about 1/8″ short. Just angle the screws in to start and they will straighten out by the time the screw is tight. Hope that makes sense?

These speakers fit the rear speaker mount holes perfectly, but the hole in the stock rear speaker box is 4 1/4″. These speakers are 4″ in diamater so the speaker did not seal off the speaker box opening like it should. I left the stock speakers in since they were...
