5 inch speakers

I want to use those little bass blocker capacitors on my Infinity Kappa 6.5 inch car speakers. The base is muddying up my mids. I will eventually add a sub to fill in what is missing. What frequency do you recommend I cut the bass off at?

i have a 2003 honda civic lx and im getting an alpine cda 9884 and i want to replace the factory speakers. i dont want to spend over $300 for all 4. any suggestions?

Do i need mono, 2-channel, or multi channel?
Do i need more than one amp?

Your best bet would be two amps,a mono amp for the subs and a 2 channel amp for the 6.5's.
And if you run separate rca's to each amp you will be able to control the speakers and subs independently.
If you have or buy a aftermarket radio just make sure it has at least two preamp outputs.
One for the subs and one for the 6.5's.

Or you could buy one mono amp for the subs and then run the 6.5's off of the radio.

Polk DB650
I alreadyhave soundwedges in my YJ with Polk 6x9s in them. I have heard that 6.5 will fit in a TJ sound bar without any mods.

Some 6.5 Polks (not sure about the DB650), some Alpines and a few other 6.5's will fit the TJ factory soundbar without mods (I have Alpine 6.5's in my '98 TJ soundbar, straight bolt-in). There are others that will fit but it's a trial and error process. You can also use spacers behind the speakers to fit them but you'll probably have to fab some covers. But they will work, a very common and simple upgrade.
