8 inch ceiling speakers

I have wholes in my ceiling that my builder put in for me, they measure 8 inches accross the center from side to side. I purchased 8 inch ceiling speakers..but apparently I ordered the wrong size. The speaker can fit, but the rest of the speaker don't fit. What size speaker does a 8 inch whole accomidate..?

so the speaker you bought is too big for the hole you have?

what part of the speaker does not fit?

a true 8" round ceiling speaker needs a hole at least 9" in diameter

a 6.5" ceiling speaker needs about 7-7.5

hopefully you are installing true speakers and not like the ones in a doctors office

You need a PA amp that has a 24 volt line driver.

Take a tape measure with you to your electronics or Super store.
Ask clerk for recommendations.

Their Are so many ceiling speakers to choose from. How Do I tell the difference between them.
I really want to know how to pick the best one and make sure I'm getting a good deal. I would also like any recommendations and or links. ( I will be installing these in a house, or should I say mansion) The Holes have been cut but the speakers have been stolen. The hole size is about 8 inches.

one of the few ceiling speakers that actually sound better the louder they go! im moving house soon and i can definitely say i shall be putting a couple in my bathroom, decent high end and clear bass reproduction for a v.cheap price. Would definitely recommend!

What type of room are you thinking of installing them in (in terms of size + use) because you could consider running ceiling speakers with a crossover (so the ceiling speakers only reproduce high and mid range tones) then install a sub for the bass.

i just bought a new home that was foreclosed. There are 8 holes on the ceiling from speakers that were previously there. The previous owners cut out the speakers from the ceilings causing the holes. There are four 12 inch and four 8 inch holes. I have been looking everywhere for covers or something to cover it. Please HELP me cover these holes!!!!!!!

You are going to have to cut pieces of drywall to fit the holes.

Take a piece of wood & cut it 4-6" larger than the hole. Secure the wood in the existing drywall with screws. Then scew the new piece of drywall to the wood. Go to Home Depot or Lowes, and buy the mesh patch that they sell in the drywall isle. Stick this over the drywall, and coat it 2-3x and then lightly sand. Prime the area & repaint, and you'll never know the holes were there.
