car speakers 15

I have two 15'' Gem high power woofers in my house collecting dust. I'm sure there is a way to connect them into my car (Ford Escort) but I don't know where or how to start. Is an amp. needed? Please help.

Yes, you'll need an amp.
These are probably 8Ohm subs. Connect them in parallel (each subs' + to amp +, each subs' - to amp -) to create a 4Ohm load. You'll need a 2 channel bridgable amp capable of putting out about 500watts rms x 1@4Ohms.

I have a 94 mustang with four speakers (two rear,two front). The specification for the speakers I bought say:

Diameter 5*7
Maximum Power Handling 100W
Continous Power Handling 50W
Frequency Response 62-21kHZ

How many channels should I get cause I might get a subwoofer later.

if you want to add an amp to these speakers get a 4 channel. dont get an amp that powers a sub and speakers like a 5 channel. get a 4 channel amp and then buy a seperate monoblock amp for your sub. monoblock amps are meant for subwoofers and will perform the best. but looking at the specs of your speakers you prob shouldnt get an amp for them. if your running an aftermarket deck then it is already pushing out 45 to 50 watts for each speaker. you'll prob end up blowing them. but if you really want to get one just get 2 amps like i said

i need a replacement for my 15 inch 600 watt pa speakers will a 15inch 600watt car speaker be the same and what about a 15 inch 600watt guitar amp speaker will that work also?

600 watt is 600 watt BUT
pa speakers = 8 Ohm to 36 Ohm
car speaker = 1 Ohm to 10 Ohm
guitar amp speaker = 8 Ohm to 16 Ohm

you need to pull the speaker out and see what it says on the back
and go with that or better to get your speaker rebuilt

i actually have some audiobahn 6x9 3 ways, they sound great and have alot of cool options,theyre a good deal for the monsy and i used to have 2x audiobahn 12" signature series and sold them to a friend and theyre still bangin, they look god with the chrome flames, i would say they are the best looking speakers hands down

I am putting (2) 15's in my car and I wanna know what the differnce is between having an amp or not having an amp.

The word says it all. "amplifier" = "amplify". Basically it amplifies the sound that comes from your CD receiver making it to sound louder, with more power and increasing the quality of the music. If you have 2 15's definetly you need an amp otherwise your radio won't have enough power delivered to the speakers.
