Pioneer Build-Off 2009 -- Doors, 1st Place, The Specialists

looking at either buying the hertz ecx100 speakers but i dont know alot about the company or can find many reviews, i know pioneer is fairly average for their mid-priced speakers, im wondering if anyone has any experience with hertz products: would appreciate some feedback/suggestions thanks.
mostly in search of info on hertz

Never heard of them

The best speakers I THINK are Alpine Type-R series, Polk and Boston Acoustics.

Are Bose car speakers better than Pioneer speakers?
Pioneer Build-Off 2009 -- Doors, 1st Place, The Specialists

My truck came with Bose Speakers from the factory but was wondering if it was worth it to swap them out for some Pioneer Premier speakers.
I already own a Pioneer Premier deck but is not installed in the truck.

Anytime you ask someone if Bose are quality products they will tell you YES. Many OEM car manufacturers at one time or another used Bose in there top line stereo systems. If it was me and I had the money to upgrade speakers I would either stay with the OEM style and get better ones or go to a custom stereo shop and see what they advice, but there's will be very expensive.

Can you build you own computer speakers with car speaker like pioneer kicker ect?
Pioneer Build-Off 2009 -- Doors, 1st Place, The Specialists

i am trying to build a mini music system for my computer bcause i hate the already made computer speakers i want to use pioneer or kicker speakers but don't know if it will work

Or...... you could just run a patch cable to your stereo/home theatre system and play through that.

Audio output from your 'puter is relatively low power, so you would need some form of amplification to drive automotive speakers.

Assuming your goal is playing music, all you need is a patch cable with a miniplug on one end, and two RCA plugs on the other. Put the miniplug in your computer, RCA plugs to tape or CD input on your amplifier, and you're good to go.

I just got front and rear pioneer speakers for my car. What would an amp do and should I get one?
Pioneer Build-Off 2009 -- Kick Panels, 1st Place, The Specialists

Are amplifiers only good if you have subwoofers because I do not have any subs, just got front and rear speakers and a new deck. All Pioneer brand. Class G and Class A speakers
Ok so it says my cd receiver is 50W by 4. So should I get an amp?

well look and see if the watts on your cd player are high enough to push your speakers, like "250x4" or whatever and if so then no you shouldnt need an amp. but if the watts on the speakers are much higher then i would reccomend getting a 300 watt amp

are pioneer car speakers good for rock music?

  • Pioneer plots a Kuro-less future in the home theater market

If you were afraid that the post-Kuro Pioneer would retreat to car audio, fear not, because the company has plans to soldier on in the HT space with a marketing message that emphasizes both its A/V specialty roots and "balanced" home-A/V product lineup. As much as we love those Kuro plasmas, there's no denying that the prices didn't exactly jive well with the company's efforts to get consumers to recognize the value proposition in its other products. We'll admit that everyday consumers (read: not Engadget HD readers) looking to assemble a one-brand system could have been scared off of the Pioneer name by the Kuro prices, but we wish Pioneer would have kept its plasmas around as an "aspirational"...
