sony car speakers

are sony car speakers any good?
are they a good brand....have good bass?
i was looking at some small ones to start out with...
they are 275watt....is that any goodd?
should i invest in them?

if not, why?
& whats the best wattage..?
& whats the best type of car speakers?

Sony speakers are not as good as the following brands (Cerwin Vega / Boss / Infinity & More around this range)

But from the wattage you are talking about these must be small speakers mainly used for 6 x 9's or 4"s...Or a really sad Sub :)
Are you going to have an AMP pushing these speakers?
Best wattage? Depends on your budget.
Should you invest in them? Anything is better then stock unless it has something nice in it like the above brand names I stated.

A Few questions to ask your self, do you think they will sound better then my current speakers?

Do they fit my budget?
Will my Stereo/Receiver handle the wattage since I am concerned on the Wattage/RMS Value?
Do they come with speaker wire & how much? Enough to run from back to front?

Majority of the time I see sales for speakers & amps around christmas time, you should probably wait.. They are always on sale then :)

Part 2 of number 1

I had someone installed a new sets of Sony speakers in the rear of my car but they did not use the speed clips. Now when I have the music up the bass causes the speakers to rattle. Can someone let me know what they are for if not used can it cause rattle?

speed clips just help hold your speakers tight to what ever your bolting them to. if your replaced the same size speakers and used the factory holes then thats not your problem. but if you used new holes then i would try and use them they go on the other side of what your bolting to so (in order ) it should go screw, speaker hole, what ever your bolting to, speed clip

I was going to hook up my old Sony X-Plod Amp to my car speakers (not my subwoofer, just the speakers). I have Infinity Kappa Speakers in my doors and panels. How would I go about doing this? My amp is only a one channel, and I want to hook it up to the front and rear speakers...Here are pics of the amp hookups:

dont even bother... that amp is designed for low frequencies... for bass.. you will just end up ruining you speakers and you won't have a fader/balance control of them. if you want to put an amp on them, buy a 4 channel amp

Seriously you should wait till you can afford to pay for help.....you could fry everything! People may be able to give you "advice" but without standing there looking at your wires something horrible could go wrong....not only would you be broke, but you would be out your car and new stereo system.

I actually had some idiot set a stereo on fire while hooking it up because he crossed the wrong wires and he just dropped it on the seat and let it burn......I threw the stereo out the door and put the fire out. Moral of the story: I had to buy another stereo and then had to pay to get it installed because I called myself "saving money".
