Am planning to get one but in the Philippines am not sure if GPS works. Is there a fee to using GPS?

The GPS will work, it is worldwide. So you will get position in terms of latitude and longitude.

The maps may not work.

Does it truly matter if one lasts up to 2 hours (TomTom) and another lasts up to 5? Aren't these things charging in the car anyway? Just curious.

If the GPS never leaves the car (a common case) the answer is pretty much as you expect. If you hope to pop it into your pocket while changing rental cars or running into a business meeting or perhaps taking it for a walk or a geocache hunt, battery life can matter.

If you don't see yourself using the GPS outside of the car, don't fret about it.

I have a 2003 Accord and have considered getting a GPS system for it. I have done some pricing but am not sure if I need to pay a monthly fee for connectivity. Is there a monthly fee, or do I just need to face the price of the unit? I am considering a low-end model in terms of price. I do not need all the bells and whistles so a basic unit should be fine.

No monthly fee at all. You're using free data provided by US Government navigation satellites.

Looking for a basic GPS for an automobile and maybe one that can be mounted on the handlebars of a Harley if possible (not necessary though). I don't need the voice command and all the frills and thrills that I probably would never use anyway. Preferably $200.00 U.S. dollars or less.
