What are the benefits with having a bluetooth enabled gps vs a non bluetooth?
The bluetooth may allow you to locate the antenna in a more remote location. I have owned a TomTom Navigator bluetooth system and it worked fine. However, for long trips you will have to use the power cords (whichs gets cluttered).
I like the new TomTom One V3. The following page shows you how to avoid traffic camera tickets using your gps: http://www.a2dvoices.com/realityCheck/gp s/TomTomGPS.html
Description on Bluetooth GPS and the different models
I wanna get a PDA (with Windows Mobile) with Bluetooth and then use a Bluetooth GPS receiver with it. The problem is, I don't know which ones would work with Windows Mobile. I feel like I'd be able to just get a receiver and then get the software for the PDA that is Windows compatible, but I don't know if GPS receivers are only compatible with certain software. Or does it depend on the receiver? Any ideas? Any help? Thanks!
Hi Mate,
May be this will help. I am listing two applications here that contain information about the compatible Windows Mobile Devices and bluetooth recievers these applications work with. You can check if your desired Windows Mobile device is listed there and then you can purchase the desired device, bluetooth reciever and the application accordingly.

I have a Dell Axim X3 and I want to use it as a GPS navigator. It has no bluetooth capabilities but ideally I would want to connect it to a bluetooth GPS receiver.
How do I install bluetooth capabilities into my Axim X3? Once I do that can I receive signals from the bluetooth GPS receiver?
How will I go about doing this ?
You will need to get a bluetooth sdio card. Bluetooth gps devices usually use a bluetooth virtual serial link.
i have a brand new c902 and need to get some sat nav software and was wondering would my bluetooth gps reciever work with the google maps and was there any free sat nav software out there like nav 4 all . com.
Not sure about the bluetooth gps receiver but I have the HGE-100 on the c902 and the GPS works a treat. I mainly use the Tracker software when walking but I have tried the Wayfinder Active software too.
It even works to add a GPS tag to all photos taken (You can of course turn the option off)
I know this doesn't answer your original question but you can definitely use GPS on the C902

For this project, my goal was to get GPS data into my Mac for some visualization experiments with ActionScript. After some initial prototypes that worked well using an RS232-to-USB converter, I decided that wasn’t slick enough and had it too many wires. I like things nice and clean around my desk, so I opted for adding Bluetooth in place of a USB converter.
After experimenting with some different methods, some using microprocessors and some not, I opted for the simpler route, eliminating the microprocessor. A microprocessor doesn’t add anything other than cost for the basic purpose of this project. Although stay tuned for another posting about integrating a similar configuration with the Make Controller and Arduino microprocessors.
