c330 car gps

Why dose my Garmin StreetPiolt C330 GPS only work when I have it plugged in to my car, when I take it out of my car it will not turn on, like the batteries are dead but is it not so post to charge them when I have it plugged in. O.K. so it may have fell of the windscreen on to the set but that should not hurt it, right. Has anyone els had this problem and what can I do? Thanks

The on/off button of my GPS tends to push against anything around when I put it away and stays ON until I need it again. So the battery gets totally discharged and it won't work until I plug it in. So maybe that what is happening to yours. Also, if the battery is deffective, it won't charge up. Call you manufacturer and get a replacement battery.

Testin it out the new Gps...

I been beating my brains with this one, I like some features on the Lowrance, but I do not like the fact they have out dated maps and it sometimes freezes. The C330 has excellent reveiws, but it seems simplistic. Does anyone have any experiences with these units???The TomTom has some mapping problems I hear. I want something within the $250-350 range. Thank you!

Garmin is a more reputable brand I would go with it.

I believe the Garmin c330 to be the best bang for the buck,but I'm unsure.It has street name voice prompt,suction cup window mounting,12 v plug in,and version 8 USA mapping.I can purchase this from comparemaster.com for $305.00.Can anyone beat this deal?

That's about as cheap as I've seen it. There are some cheaper models out there but you get what you pay for. If you have a lap top you can get a receiver for about $100 and have GPS on there.

I have sticked and used the dashboard disk in my car to mount a Garmin C330 gps unit for years. Now, I am selling the car to another person and the buyer is asking me to remove this dashboard disk. However, this disk thing stick to the dashboard like crazy. I don't want to risk damaging the board surface by removing the disk with a chisel. Is there another easier way to remove this disk? Thank you.

I personally wouldnt go through all the trouble of removing it. When you buy a used car, you buy as is. So unless you want the disk, I would leave it.
