Adhesive material used to mount GPS on car dashboard - does it ruin interior if you take it off?

I just bought a navigation system. I am thinking of mounting it with the adhesive on my car dashboard, however I don't want it to ruin the interior dashboard if I ever remove it. Do any of you know if it will ruin the interior, if I remove it? Or can I clean if off ok?


My answer is that even if it comes off, you will always have a spot where the sun hasnt faded that spot as much.

is it legal to have gps mounts on your windshield of your car in pennsylvania?

just got a gps with a car mount. it happens to mount on ur windsheild, is this legal in pennsylvania?


California. is the only place so far that i know of that u cant have the gps on no windows,there is a holder that clips onto the fresh air vents,i have it for my tomtom and it works great

Where can I mount a GPS in my car in California?

I'm taking a road trip to San Francisco in a couple months, and I've just discovered that it's illegal to mount it on the windshield in that state.

Where else in my car can I put it? I have a 2008 Honda Civic sedan.


you could somehow mount it to the dash. my GPS came with another mounting cup for this scenario, it's sticky and i'm not sure how easy it is to remove, however according to Garmin mounting to the dash is perfectly legal. The main thing is making sure it has a clear view of the sky so it can link to the 3 triangulating GPS satellites.

Is it legal to had 2 car mount in front window at a car?

is it legal to had a camera mount and the gps mount in the front car windows? What position is not allowed to place those? (this is for California)


Some states do have laws restricting anything (except the rear view mirror) being mounted to the windshield.
