What is Better GPS System, Car GPS like Delphi Nav 200 or Phone GPS like Nokia 6110?

I want to Buy a GPS system and want to know that which is better GPS system and more accurate one. Is it better to buy a dedicated car GPS like DELPHI NAV 200 or a Nokia 6110. And also as both of them uses different map source DELHPHI uses mapmyindia and Nokia uses satnav so which is better source of maps in India?

Bought this from Amazon. Would totally reccommend it.

What do I need to look for in a basic in car GPS Sat Nav?

I'm willing to spend up to 200 quid. What should I buy?

You should be looking for the largest screen you can find.
The screen should have brightness adjustability enabling you to turn that screen VERY bright and very dim. This helps at night and in the glare of sunlight as well.
A rotating screen or base which allows you to turn the screen in your direction when mounted.
Make sure whichever one you buy has autocalculation for routs so that if you should be following the devices directions and you miss a turn or something, it will automatically re-navigate to get you back on track.
Voice prompting is pretty much essential. You don't want to be taking your eyes off the road to be studying the screen while driving. This means the audio should have a volume control and be loud enough when at full volume to catch your attention if you are listening to the radio or talking...within reason obviously.I leave the radio on a comfortable speaking level.
Most all will perform the task about the same but you also want one you can easily connect to your computer and download updates etc....
I have a TomTomOne( approx. $300 CDN ) and the software interface for this is a little cumbersome.I think whoever designed it was not very familiar with the Windows Operating system. If I had another chance I think I would have went with the Garmin model.
If you stick to the $300.00 range you should not have any problem finding all of the things I llisted above in one model.
But all in all I am satisfied with the TomToms performance.
Hope this helps.

How to fit in Car GPS Sat Nav in BMW e90?

Hi,

I have BMW e90. It has a regular music system and I want to replace it with :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dl l?ViewItem&item=110303160919&ssP ageName=ADME:B:BCA:GB:1123

Can anyone please tell me how can I fit this unit in my car? Are there any manuals? How easy/difficult will that be?

Regards,
Chandan

It's not really any more complicated than fitting any other stereo. You'll probably find that you need a wiring adapter unless the car has standard ISO connectors, you'll need a fascia trim like this;

and an adapter to allow you to use the steering wheel controls for the stereo if fitted.

It is harder to find the model car I want with it and I want nav on it.

we notice aftermarket GPS is very hard to read and inaccurate. screen is too small to look at.

    A GPS Navigation Systems

Simplicity always stays in complexity. Some manage to find it and some manage to forget it. GPS stands for global positioning system and is a very good communication medium. This system consists of a constellation of medium orbit satellites which revolve around the earth. The total number of these satellites is some number between 24 to 32. GPS receivers locate the precise microwave signals given out by these satellites and determine their location. Receivers all around the world determine navigation guidance with the help of three mediums which are time transfer, relative movement and absolute location.

A GPS works by calculating its position from the satellites which is sent out signals to the receiver. The receiver calculates the transmitting time of the signal from the receiving time and determines its position in the form of coordinates. These coordinates are then converted into latitude and longitude and hence the user of this GPS receiver can thus figure out his position on the map with these two figures.
