car gps navigation receiver

i love the smart gadgets, but i found the instruction,but i don't know it could use directly as navigation or not? who could give me some advice!!

Oh, I checked this product online and found it is not used as car navigation. It can save the coordinates of a location, then uses satellite triangulation to guide you back to that location. It is most useful for finding your way back to your car, hotel, or camp. I think this GPS receiver are most suit for elder and children.

Some TomTom products come without a receiver although they advertise like you can get going without any additional purchases. Will I find that after I have bought my product I will then need to purchase a receiver as well, or is that just needed if I want to go wireless?

if your pda has not got gps built in then you will require one.

Are these the same? Im looking for a GPS thingy but I cant tell if these two are the same. Also, which one is best to use. I need a compact one to use in the car and to carry around. My preferences: accuracy, easy updateable maps.

We have canvassers that go door to door dropping off flyers. It gives us a per 5 minute report. We also use their maps to print for new areas. It's easy and I'm happy so far. Also, it's smaller than a flip-phone.

Is Pioneer AVIC-N3 IN DASH GPS navigation compatable with Pioneer car dvd in-dash units, i.e. Pioneer AVH-P7800DVD? If so, what would I have to get, i.e. DVD/CD navigation receiver, etc? I would just get the Pioneer AVIC-N3 unit but it's screen size is 6'5" and the Pioneer AVH-P7800DVD screen size is 7" which is personally better for me.

I am looking for putting together a bare-bones device for my car. The GPS will receiver will collect location coordinates which will be passed to a GSM unit that transmit the information to a specified mobile device as an SMS. I would also like to know if such a cheap GSM unit is also available and where. Also, if a ready device of this sort (GPS+GSM) or a hack is available. Can someone tinker and make one for me? If you have understood the device will be primarily for locating in case of car theft, and not for real-time navigation assistance.
