Is the cobra navigation system a good gps system?
Fatal application error

I just ordered a cobra gps navigation system and i was just woundering if any one has used one of these. I have been looking for a long time and I got a good deal on this one, and I am just woundering if I got got to good of a deal. Any help will be very thankful

Kinda curious what you call a good deal. Cobra has been around for a long time, mostly in the CB business. They don't manufacture any products them selves though, but their engineering is tops. Most of their better CB's were manufactured by Uniden corp. which is no dog out fit in their own right. Their radar system (commercial) for trains and emergency vehicles (police etc.) is well respected in the industry. I am an authorized service center for Cobra communication equipment but do not deal with their GPS-yet.
I am in motorcycle sound equipment and we do install GPS but not the Cobra brand at this time.

what is the difference between the cobra gps 2750 and the m3000?

Those two units are mostly identical with a few exceptions:
The m3000 added USB interface.
The LCD screen on the 2750 is 13cm, on the m3000 it's 13.2cm.
The m3000 is a bit larger but weighs less than the 2750.

Cobra GPS 100?

I just bought a cobra GPS100 and the AA battries did not last very long. The owners manual does not answer my question, which is: Can I use rechargable AA battries in this unit without doing any damage to the circuitboard?

the owners booklet will tell you what TYPE of batteries to use.
Meaning what the batteries are made of like Cadium, Lithium, etc.
Thats what you go by when putting batteries in the unit.

GPS Recomendations: Cobra Nav One 2100? (GPSM 2100) and others.?

I was looking to go to best buy and buy the GPSM 2100 sometime soon. I was looking at the reviews and i liked what they have. I want to know if anyone has it, if they would recommend it?

Also, if you do not have the Cobra, are there any other GPS units you would recommend. I'm mostly looking for the ability for cheap updates (like maps and firmware), voice prompts, and no more than $300. I liked what Tom Tom has in terms of features, but they really only support Europe, which isn't really helpful to me. Any suggestions?
I am in the USA.

As far as "supporting europe", I refer to their extra-features, such as traffic monitoring and such appears to be limited to just europe

I just got it for my wife and we used it all weekend. We missed a turn in a very hard city to navigate and it rerouted us perfectly without saying "make a u turn" like the tom tom would say. I have alot of experience with all types of gps units and for the price and ease of use this one is great. Only gps I have ever had the gets a full signal in the garage. My wife has trouble using a calculator and has found this very easy, she easily found a number of places we were going and likes the "home" button which route you to home. Has all the options you really need. A internal battery would be nice like the tom tom but it come with an ac plug which is extra for the tom tom. very easy nice unit.

Which GPS is better ? Cobra 4500 or Nuvi 360?

Just I want to know which one is more functional, easy to use , clear to understand?

cobra sucks at their radar detectors so i would say nuvi... better than that go with a megellan. theyre not too expensive but known and reviews are good.
